Did you solve the problem with running the USB Loader GX? I have the same problem (black screen), also when I put my WBFS formated (empty) stick in the top USB. Maybe the problem is that I didn't have a ISO on it? Can someone confirm this? There is also a newer version of the loader to get: [Wii] USB Loader GX r736
    Does this solve the problem?

    Hi Messie,

I am so gratefull of you for your dedication to this site. I finally got the wii to softmod using your tutorial so I thought that was the end of that. Well, after getting all my games through wad manager I now cant seem to play them off the SD card. The wii keep saying
    - This channel cannot be launched on the Wii console

I patched IOS36, and tried using the TBR pack but it keeps getting an error ES_Title...
I tried deleting all the channels from th wii menu and dumping them into the SD card and I still cannot get the games to work. The games will work off the SD card only if there is a duplicate in the Wii channel.

Do you know what I can do to solve this problem.

    use Messies pack on B1
go to shadow sonics site and download his pack http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...4-2-wii-4.html

copy 2 files from shadow sonic's file.
in shadows pack go into apps/wadmanager1.4 and copy the boot.dol -past it to messies boot.dol
copy shadows startuop.elf and copy it to messies startup.elf

pop in your sd card with with messies original files plus 2 borrowed files from shadow sonic.

go to step B5 again on messies tutorial. it should load up to wadmanager 1.4. this will unistall ios249!!

again im running on 4.2U had the 3 errors earlier, now i got past it.

please let me know if its working for you.
It worked for me witha 4.2E, before i had the -1017 error and now the B steps gone fine

    Hi Guys!

Many thanks to Messie for this guide.
wish my first post could have been a positive one ...but....

Ok, my Wii was updated to 4.2E by a system update from 3.4 yesterday.
I managed to install Homebrew just fine after the update (nothing had been installed before) and I get up to uninstalling ios249 but which ever version I use out of the three available, as soon as I run BootMii from the Homebrew channel my remote starts flashing and the Wii won't respond to any remote functions. It's not bricked but I can't get past this point.

    Help appreciated, thanks!

Hello i am having problems with this bit of your hack guide:

PART B: The extermination of the evil stub ios249

Ok, so N did this update and thos ppl knew that we use ios249 to isntall our cios and place our backups. What did they do? they invented an empty ios ("stub") and place it in slot 249, to stop us. Like they will! Muhahahaha. Here is what we do about it. We will uninstall ios249 stub, and then isntall our own cios38rev14 in slot 249:

B1)GET THIS PACK or GET THIS PACK 2 or GET THIS PACK 3 (pick start with the first one, if you get an error pick the next one and follow instructions from B2 and on again. One of this will do the trick without an error)

B2)Place the contents of the included folder in the SD card root (only contents should be in the SD root, everything else that you want to keep must be backed up on PC and the card formatted with FAT32)

B3)Place the SD card in the wii, start HBC and press home ar the main HBC screen. (If your wii boots to Bootmii, just go to B5)

    B4)Select bootmii and wait.

B5)Wadmanager should start.(on ios select, select ios36, or try a few, i am still researching on this)!!

B6)Select SD card and press A to continue.

B7)Select ios249 from wad folder and press A

B8)change the action to "uninstall ios", press A

B9)Done!! now to the next step!!

While trying to do this i can not find "uninstall ios" all i get id "uninstall wad" which i keep getting errors any help would be great!

    Thanx in advance
