Not working for me. After clicking yes during the pop up dialog, the screen faded into black and it stayed that way. I lost count of how many times (with different methods) I've tried to load the sd card ending up in a black screen.

Followed steps but USB not working... Help?

Hey guys, I have spent 3 days reading thru forums and reinstalling these over and over:

    Quote:
D5) You can now install ios202, ios222, ios223. From HBC, run cios222 installer and select ios249 to use. At the next screen, choose the following, one at each turn:
-ios202, for usb - using ios38 (needed for USB2.0 support at Media Players)
-ios222, for uloader - using ios38 (needed for USB support of instruments and stuff)
-ios223 mainly for GH5 - using ios38 merged with 37 (same as above)
I still can't get the USB to work on my Wii to play Rock Band 2. I used this tutorial and it worked brilliantly for me on everything except the RB2 game which needs USB/Instruments. I know several other users have experienced this too since I have read through all the pages here. I don't think anyone was able to respond to this issue yet, but I could have missed it...

Would someone like to take a stab at helping me out?

One thing to note, on these 3 things:

-ios202, for usb - using ios38 (needed for USB2.0 support at Media Players)
-ios222, for uloader - using ios38 (needed for USB support of instruments and stuff)
-ios223 mainly for GH5 - using ios38 merged with 37 (same as above)

I may have installed the last one ios223 using ios38 then went back and reinstalled it correctly using ios38 merged with 37. Is that ok, or would I have to uninstall somehow then reinstall? I am pretty clueless here but this tutorial just made this so easy it worked for me all except the USB ports. Need help please.

Scrubbing is done with a separate program (like WiiScrubber) mainly to reduce the size of a game. Since all games are the same size (in order to completely fill up a DVD), some of the data is just empty and not needed. When you are burning a game to DVD, this doesn't matter, but if you are using a USB HDD, it matters a lot. For instance, a scrubbed Super Mario Bros. goes from 4 gigs to about 400 megs. However, scrubbing Super Mario also causes some copy protection errors to kick in, which is why a scrubbed burn of the game won't work.
All in all, for most games scrubbing is great (when using a HDD), and it also, as a side effect of the scrubbing program, gets rid of any automatic updating options in the disk.
    So, to recap:
-Scrubbing is not needed. It just reduces the file size
-Some games work better scrubbed, some work better not scrubbed
-When a game is downloaded, it might already be scrubbed

    Fantastic guide
I have 4.1E black Wii, which i updated to 4.2. After the update I followed this guide. All went well and now I can play backup games from USB-harddrive or memory stick.

Here's some problems I solved along the way:

I tried 1st with cheap Hong Kong imported Wiimote which didn't work at first steps. I changed to original Wiimote and that worked.

I had also problem with the SD-card reader which i bought. It said that the SD-card is write protected although it wasn't. The problem was solved by changing to different USB port in PC.

I also noticed that the WLAN interferes with my laptop and cell phone which uses also WLAN. If Wii is connected to router first, then my laptop can't establish a connection and vice versa.

Is there anything special abaut the brand new black wii? Has anyone successfully softmodded it? If you are, plz reply.

It seems i'm not the only one suffering from the blackscreen when trying to run my games from hdd or disk.
