-_- I meant why don't you just use your dvd player you don't have to use your wii to play movies it just complicates things you should have a dvd player anyways.

i chose ios36 then i want to uninstall the ios249 wad but it gives me an error..what do i do?
B3)Place the SD card in the wii, start HBC and press home ar the main HBC screen. (If your wii boots to Bootmii, just go to B5)
B4)Select bootmii and wait.
B5)Wadmanager should start.(On ios select, select ios36, or try a few, 249, 250 dunno,we are scratching our heads with this)!!
B6)Select SD card and press A to continue.
B7)Select ios249 from wad folder and press A
B8)change the action to "uninstall wad", press A
B9)Done!! now to the next step!!

Bumping my help request....
Following tutorial was easy. Parts A - C went through successfully. Homebrew, DVDx and Bootmi (as IOS) was installed correctly. I uninstalled the stub in IOS249 OK, installed cios38rev14 to replace it successfully but I have a problem with both Neogamma and USB loader GX.
When I first ran through the tutorial I accidentally hit INSTALL IOS249 and when all was said and done, I couldn't load either Neogamma or the USB loader at all. I caught my error, ran through step B again, this time changed function to UNinstall ios249, went through Step C again and then the two HB apps loaded successfully, so I'm certain the CIOS is running OK.
I have a new 4.2U S/N Lu7337XXXX
neogamma loads (and it shows its using IOS249 R14 as it should) but I get disc read error. I'm CERTAIN I have the dreaded D3-2 chip (my version is not listed in the drive chip database yet and I don't feel like opening the unit to make sure) so I turned to USB loader.
Using a 16 Gig Duracell Flash (which is green in the compatibility chart). I used WBFS manager 3.0 to turn it into that type of partition. I loaded an NTSC-U ISO on the drive and plugged it into the correct USB slot on the Wii.
USB loader sees the drive and shows the title correctly but loading the game just gives me a black screen. I've tried different video and region settings. Made sure ISO249 was being used to load it....no dice. The best I can get is a blue screen with an error when error 002 is switched to ON. Everything else is a black screen, the Wii is locked and I have to manually reboot it.
I used USB loader to install a purchased game to the HDD. The rip went through successfully. The new title is available in the drive list now and THIS version gives me the same problem when I attempt to load it.
I switched Neogamma v8 to load off of USB and I get pretty much the same thing. First time it timed out trying to load, the other times the screen just hung at loading game and I needed to reboot the Wii manually.
I've read a lot of posts and most people with 4.2U are having no problems. I've certainly done my homework but I'm at a complete loss. This thread has 400 pages to it. I've attempted to search for my solution but I'm coming up short. If anyone can give me some ideas, I would be most grateful.
Thanks to the OP for the fine tutorial!!

Thanks alot.. Manage to get it up on the 1st try.. Nice tutorial..
Suggest addition of getting the HDD formatted and plug before Step D3), got abit lost when I did that also but saw the following quote and everything resolved.. Think it will be useful for noobs jus like myself.

Noticed my question was forgotten.

No System hacks available
Hi. Great guide. I followed your guide except for the 1st part as i had already installed homebrew channel using the bannerbomb method. I did everything else as your guide. When my wii starts up into the priiloader i am unable to set any hacks. it just says no hacks are found, Hacks.ini file is on the sd card in the root. Please can you advise what i might have done wrong. Thanks
