This guide is great! I'm a noob at this and i can do most of it! I'm just stuck on one part though. I'm on part C6 and my wii continues to freeze right after i hit A on IOS249. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it?

    Regards

Also, if you are going to run GC backups, use GameCube Backup Launcher 0.2 usually seen like gcbl 0.2 with cMIOS RVL-mios-v8.wad, I've had no problems with it so far other than my own bad burns, and make sure for all your backups including Wii that you use DVD-R and not DVD+R!! And just to be safe, I don't bother with making multi-iso discs, you can have more problems that way!

Look at the Guide again, I believe you need to select "Do Not Reload IOS" by hitting left on the D-pad til you see that, and if that doesn't work - then, you can try different IOS, the guide say when you first start that IOS249 will be selected and that you are supposed to change it.. I always read over a few times to make sure I didn't miss anything!

It should only take a couple mins, if that. Make sure you have the correct folders and files in the SD card (step B2) and make sure your SD card is formatted to FAT32. SDHC(high capacity) may work and I've had no problems(after 4.0) but, no guarantees! Did you try having bootmii loaded as boot2 and not an IOS? boot2 is a little more efficient, that's all! You may have to start over on steps B. That's a tough one, I hope this helped!

You shouldn't need WBFS for any VC(virtual console) games. You just install them with WADmanager, and if you want to "move" them to the SD card and run them from the SD Channel(the SD card and symbol at the bottom left corner of the Wii's main screen) then make sure you install IOS70[patched][free the bug] with WADmanager. WBFS is for playing Wii backups via a USB flash drive and programs like neogamma or usbloadergx.

Don't forget about emulators like Snes9xGX and Genplus, they also work very well if you don't want to install wads, except for the N64 emulators, which you should grab whatever wads are available, even for a PC - all N64 emulators aren't top notch and tend to lag alot.

    Here's the issue

I've been working on this for close to a week now. Unfotunately this is the one thing I have been unable to do. I have tried everything I have come accross and still am unable to get the cIOS onto my Wii. As a result, all of the guides i have come accross have been mostly of little help to me. For example, this wonderfully built guide, which I would love to follow doesn't do me any good past the first section as I can not delete ios 249 because of the -2011 error. I have done much research on this and other errors as well as different ways to remedy them but none so far has worked. I can't even downgrade my Wii (which I know is not recommended but at this point I'm just trying to make it work) because of the same issue. So it seems most of the paths I can take are shut off to me. I am running, cuz i'm an idiot and literally 1 day before learning of these techniques had updated my Wii like a good little boy, version 4.2U. I will take any help I can get so please, please any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I really respect this community, as a newcomer, as I can see the hard work you have all put into your posts in this forum. I hope I do not cause anyone to feel I am wasting their time with an outcry for help. I'm sure more information is required to help, so if you have questions please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you very much.

    Smile

I had that exact problem. What I did was install the wad, then uninstall the wad. Instead of just uninstalling the wad. And then I was able to get through the whole tutorial and got NSMB working from an untouched burn using Neogamma. I am running a Wasabi chip which probably doesn't matter either way.

you may also want to look into WBFS and usb loading.. it works faster and i believe more reliable(using neogamma of course).

is tiger woods a copy? you might have the wii with D3-2, which means your wii can't play copies. You'll have to use a usb loader (i.e. USB Loader GX) and an external HDD.

I have that drive and just replaced the full drive from one on ebay for $40 shipped. Just in case you want to play DVD's.
