Black Screen on some games
I have a 4.2E wii.
USB 32gb HDD
I had downloaded Darts, Monopoly, Mario Bros, G1 Jocky from the internet and they were all working fine. I have been searching around on forums for 2 weeks to try and find out how to down load games from original game to USB through using USB loader Gx, because the 6 new games i attempted to down load through the usb loader where giving me a black screen!
Since then i re formatted my HDD with WFBS and i was able to load wii sport from the original game to the usb hdd. I though this was a success but now after re loading the down loaded games i listed above + another 5 original games and they all give me a black screen except for Mario Bros and Wii sport.
Mario bros was downloaded
Wii sport was copied from the original through USB loader GX.
None of the other 10 games i have tested work weather they have been downloaded or copied through usb loader. Some give me black screen and turn off the wii remote. Some restart wii console back to main menu.
Can any one help??

Ok, forget my long post on the stumblings of a noob.
I was hoping that just by reading and following _exactly_ the original post on how to do this hack, I would be golden.
However, there is always implied context and with blinders on, it's no surprise I failed a bit, at least in regards to clearing the SD card and wondering where/what happened to the HBC apps.
I now have the ones I need back, BootMii is back on as well (as boot2) which I think from reading is better/safer than preloader if you can get it to work as boot2....
...and I think steps B and C are still fine since I can run both NeoGamma and SB Loader GX without a problem.
I don't have any backup games to test it though but my understanding is that they wouldn't even run of steps B and C were not done right.
Setting up the new HD USB drive right now via another thread from this site...
...and now to find some backup games.
(any site suggestions w/torrents would be great, otherwise I normally use isohunt for everything else)

I tried my Star Trek II Backup, its on a "Maxell DVD-R single layer", with MplayerCE and it worked great, no skips or slow downs.

quick question about the priiloader hacks menu.
if i want to stop all online updates etc should it say 'enabled' or 'disabled' on the right hand side?
sounds a bit stupid i know, but i just wanted to see whether i was 'disabling' the update or 'enabling' the hack.

I had a BLACK 4.1e with, I think, the latest DVD 3-2 chip set. Everything was working fine from the USB HDD until I thought I might try connecting to my WiFi connection. As soon as the Wii connected a message popped up reporting 'updating, do not turn off your system'. After it had finished I found that my system version was 4.2e and NOT 4.1e. I did not get a warning to update or a choice, it just updated.
My Homebrew Wad Manager and the USB Loader no longer work. I CAN enter HBC and see a menu, and using the home key I can enter BootMii, can I use the backed up nand.bin (520MB ish in size) file I created when I softmoded my Wii when it was version 4.1e using Dogeggs Tutorial to restore my system to 4.1e.
I did go into bootmii after the Wii updated to 4.2 to have a look at restoreing the nand.bin, it reported that it would simulate first and then it gave me a warning so I declined to restore.
If I can't, then do I have to complete the whole of this Full hacking guide for 4.2 system menus by Messie or can I skip the parts I have already done? It does mention at the end of PART A that Those who had previously (before the update) installed ios249 may have a chance to play backed up games easily, would this be the case for me?

Sorry my english.
I'm not sure, but I think you should only copy the 1st pack (in the A1) to your SD card and you will see everything in the HBC.

this one might be a stupid question.....but after I follow the whole tutorial will I be able to use a guitar for RockBand 2? I have a copy of the game (which works) but I'm not sure i wanna spend money for a guitar if it won't work

I didn't receive any answer on my small problem yet.
I have 2 virgin WII, I upgraded to 4.2e and install everything following the guide.
Everything is perfect, except I'm getting the confirmation for the update 1.0.6 of the HBC each time I open the HBC, when I say yes, it updates but the next time I open it (HBC) the same confirmation pop up again...

Wadmanager won't read my SDHC card - nor will Bootmii
I have been using a 4GB Kingston Class 4 SDHC Card and have so far used it to install DVDx and the Homebrew Channel using the bannerbomb pack. However when I tried to install bootmii it failed to "mount my SD card". I tried both boot2 and ios.
So I decided to go ahead and try and insteal the backup launcher and wadmanager. However when I go onto wadmanager (v1.5 although 1v.4 seems to do the same thing) from the Homebrew Channel I select install as IOS37 (because I think that's what I installed when following an earlier tutorial) and it asks for a storage device and then fails to mount my SDHC card. I've tried this with wadmanager v1.3 - 1.5 and they are all meant to have SDHC support. I don't know what the problem is because my SDHC card is perfectly fine.
I have also tried formatting my card with both the Windows formatter (FAT32) and the official SD card formatter.
Is there any way of me getting the backup launcher and bootmii without getting a whole new SD card?
