Try to load the wad files from another media. I got the same error when loading from my SD card (actually error -1), but I copied the files over to my USB HD and VOILA it worked instantly.

    Just a tip.

    Thumbs up

Hi, I am new to all of this and have been trying to get the New Super Mario Bros game to play for a few weeks. I have a Wasabi DX chip installed, system menu 4.0 and drive is set to region free. After much ado, I have had some success so I figured I would share in the hope of helping someone else with similar issues. Using the links provided on this page and following all instructions to the letter gave me the extra help I needed.
After installing HBC, Neogamma, USBloader_GX and bootmi I was able to get alot further than the initial error screens and wii rebooting. After following all of the instructions for neogamma including changing some settings in the game menu - fix002 etc, I was able to get to a point where it told me exactly where the problem was. Trying to run the disc I received an error "apps/neogamma/SMNP01.dol missing". I was able to download SMNP01.dol and put it in necessary folders - apps/neogamma on SD card. I also put a copy of the .dol on the root of SD card and in the apps/usbloader_gx as well just to be sure. I gave up trying to play the game through neogamma as it just kept rebooting so I moved onto usbloader_gx. After setting region free for drive options, using 222 instead of 249, changing in game settings to set alternate .dol from SD card and remembering to save configs, I can now play the game til my heart is content. I play it straight from my WD1TB Elements drive formatted with WBFS and using WBFS Manager to copy iso files from my pc. At times it takes a bit longer to load but it will load and will play without any further issues. Lack of skill can't be helped by these forums, only practise can so hang in there, persistance is the key.......if I can do it, anyone can!!

I have a question about using USB drive instead of SD card?

I have the Wii softmodded via this tutorial. I have an external 300gb HDD, I used the WBFS software and formated a 275gb partition and left a 25gb partition formatted as Fat32.

Is there a way I can load Wads or emulators onto the 25gb FAT32 partition instead of using the SD card?

0xffff suggests a 65535 cIOSCORP (FAIL) revision. cIOSCORP screws with Wiis.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

You double posted your issue and obviously knew that was wrong because you removed the 4.2 information in your post in dogeggs' forum. Your Wii has been ID'ed as having installed cIOSCORP and a link provided in the other forum for you to follow. Deliberate deception will not get you any additional help.
