    Question

    Good tutorial!

Unfortunately I get a read error (The Game Disc could not be read. Please read the WII Operation Manual for more information) while trying to load a DVDR. Maybe my Wii does use the chipset D3-2, as was mentioned in your post. I should note that I burned the ISO on a DVD+R. Maybe I should use a DVD-R instead?

    Hi Messie,

    New poster here.

I was following your awesome guide, but when I reached B8 (uninstalling wad),
it gave me a line of errors.

    Is this supposed to happen?

    Thanks in advanced!

What ios did you select at the start of wad manager? Keep trying untill you don't get those line of errors with different ios's. post back if works.

    No USB....

Ok I had everything working on 4.1, Neogama, USB loader using 3 different drives all known good. When exiting from Tiger Woods golf on USB I got a screen dump. I ignored it and restarted. At that time I no longer had USB connection to my HD. I tried several things with no luck. After almost 2 weeks I have ended up on 4.2 with everything working again except USB HD. I have followed the guide and reinstalled step by step several times, still the same. I have loaded cIOSCORP 3.5 everything works again EXCEPT USB HD.

The Hard Drives are good and working on other systems The USB ports are good for my wireless network adapter, and USB sensor bar, and a Keyboard so I know the USB ports are good.

I also now have Startpatch installed but when the problem occurred I did not. I feel something either from a disk update or Internet update has disabled The ability to detect the USB Hard drive.

I have seen a few other comments which are similar but no corrective action.

A1)GET THIS and unrar the contents in the root of your SD card. In the root of the SD card whould be:
    root:\apps
    root:\private
    root:\wad
    IOS38-64-v3610.wad
    boot.elf

A2)Run to your wii, place the card in the SD slot and navigate to the SD card icon, bottom left, writes SD and has the same shape, can't really miss it. Once you did this, a warning screen about scams should appear, press ok, screen will go black. A disclaimer shall appear, press one to continue.

A3)Now three lines should appear: Homebrew channel, which can be isntalled, DVDx, also can be installed, Bootmii, which possibly will give you an error. Install all three of them and then exit.

Warning: Bootmii at most cases will give you an error, so it cannot be installed as a boot2. For most of you will be isntalled as an ios. That is fine.

A4)After that you are ready, you have isntalled all of the above! now an app can be palced in the apps folder in your SD card and be run by HBC! This has a load of functions: Media players, Emulators, Useful apps and Homebrew games! browse tham all here, but take care with the ones you dont really understand,as they might ruin your wii! most of them are really safe tho.
    Hello Guys,
My Wii is 3.3E and my Boy updated the firmware accidently.
so if i followed the guide till A4 i should be ok?
My Wii is Virgine never been moded before,

If it's definitely 4.2 then yes, if not the 3.0-4.1 may be more appropriate.

The sequence to A4 would give you Homebrw channel, DVDx and Bootmii, so you'd be able to play around with emulators, media players and stuff but not loaders.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Guide worked like a treat on my new Black Wii, thanks messie.

So far I have followed it to part D3. Might be enough as I have USBLoaderGX up and running. However I'd like to install it as a channel and being preloader safe wouldn't hurt. Parts D4-D6 on the guide seem a little daunting though, with all the warnings.

D6 especially seems a bit complex for me (yes, I'm new to all of this). What exactly does that 'DOP ios36' do? the guide mentions that it must be done before installing preloader but can it be skipped altogether? (I'm not totally sure on what that DOP-ios -part does anyway, but i guess it's something important because it's in the guide? )
