i installed the cios 38 rev 14 and tried to run my old backup loaders and some other new, like neogamma r7, and it still doesn't work.
it worked for you guys Oo? what did you do?

Worked like a charm!! Thanks so much.
I used the Bannerbomb method on an a softmodded 4.1E wii which was updated to 4.2E
after I followed your method using bannerbomb I then went and ran the cios38rev14 installer again and used IOS250 and now I'm able to play my backed up games from disc with NeoGamma and Harddrive with USB/SD Loader.
Thanks again and good luck to everyone who has updated to 4.2 and are still working on getting their modded Wii going again.
Also the best part about using bannerbom is you don't need any OEM Wii games to reinstall Homebrew channel... everything is downloaded and ran straight from an SD Card

Does turning off Wiiconnect24 disable asking for updates? Just something I read somewhere but not sure if it was true or not and wanted some confirmation.
If it does, does disabling WC24 also not allow you to play any games online anymore too?

did you load cios38rev14 installer again and use IOS250?
If you did try using either IOS202, IOS222, IOS223 or IOS249 like messie has suggested in the tutorial?
