Yeah, I figured that out but, do I clear my SD card off completely and just make a folder called "WADS" or how do I even put wads on my sd card? basically, after compleating the above guid, I need a little more help installing wads (which IOS to use in Wad Manager, should my sd card be BLANK with just the wads or a folder for wads, How do I stop the RET 1 error I am getting).

The files on this tutorial (wad files)need to be in the root of the SD card the apps need to be in (ROOT):/apps

Yes ok. Now just to try and install a WAD I found a "world of goo" WAD on this site. I DL it and put it in my SD card root (no folder or anything just in my root with the other wads).

I went to home brew channel and ran Wad manager.

Under "select which IOS to install I have tried 249, 36 but I get ERROR ret -1.
again I am running a 2gb sd card (as I have read more gigs may cause ret errors).

    WiiNubE:

Now that you completed the Softmod, you will not need all those softmodpack files on your SD card. You can delete the WADS, hacks.ini, and boot.elf. Keep the Wads Mgr in your Apps folder and store the bootmii stuff (keys.bin and NAND backup) on your PC HDD. I don;t remember what you chose as your system menu version, but if your chose to upgrade to 4.0 or 4.1, you can now use larger SD cards-the specificity of my SD card recommendation was due to the fussiness of several of the softmod apps. You can use other cards now just remember they may not all work, but your choices are now broader.

To load your World of Goo.wad, it should be placed in your WAD folder, not directly in the root. Messie was referring to the softmod that you reported to have completed (this is a cIOS-related thread). When you run Wad Manager, it should detect a custom IOS (mesg at top of screen). If you are confronted with an IOS choice menu, then something in the cIOS step was skipped in your softmod (Step 3).

If you have successfully completed your softmod and installed your cIOS, you should post your WAD or ISO questions in the related forums for best results. Also, now take some time and read through the various tutorials-there is one on everything WAD-related. Glad you found World of Goo.wad on your own-that is reported to be an excellent award-winning game. Enjoy.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I appreciate your help with this.
I am POSITIVE the installation did go as it should however, it is still asking me to select which ISO version is wants me to use in wad manager.
and still giving me RET 1 error.
at this point my SD card looks like this:

    apps
    IOS64-V257.WAD
    IOS64-V266.WAD
    IOS64-V3094.WAD
    IOS64-V3610.WAD

in the root/app folder I have
    cIOS installer
    Tucha bug restore
    WAD manager
    (am I missing anything)?

I guess I'v been asking my questions here because I don't know what this type of hack is called (i.e Twilight hack, soft mod) or how to find things that are compatable with it.
I am very new to doing this (I'm sure you all know this by now) and it is turning out to be harder than I thought

btw I am running v4.0 on wii and have wiiconnect24 OFF

.......oh ok I had redune step 3 of the Easy way to get cios tutorial haha ok now I am only slightly less insane um ok I will redo step 3 in sofmod guide (that's the part where it says

    (" This will work on any wii, 3.0-3.4, 4.0, 4.1, LU64+ & foreign equivalents
You need the HBC for this to work, so if your Wii is a total virgin then install it first")?

Error -1 is "did not find the file" error... Try to create a wad folder in the root and place wads in there... what do you want ios64 for? it's the first time i see it...

Now i'm not sure on this you would have to check it out, but i would imagine that its because you have 3.1. I would check to see if anyone would have any advice on whether you should update to a later version if that would help you.
    Drivekey
    HBC 1.0.6
    4.1U
    Trucha Bug Fix
    cIOS38 rev14
    Wad Manager 1.5
