i'll try the SD card thing (i've been reading lots about how picky the wii can be) and let you know, as for the movie yes it's a regular DVD bought from the store.

i've also been doing all my transfers of files to sd card from a mac, if that could be an issue. but i'll try on my pc and see if it works

    thanks alot for your help

    Exclamation

I have a Wii with Infectus modchip installed and menu 4.1E.

I followed the tutorial from this post, the only difference was that I downloaded the wads from NSU intead of using yours and set the "Patch nand Permissions" to NO.

After this, I can install any wad using Wad Manager 1.4 and they show up in the Wii Menu as a channel that I can run without problems.

The final problem I have is when I move a installed channel to the SD Card, through the Wii Data Management Menu, and then try to launch it from the Wii SD Card menu the following error occurs:

    "Failed to launch"

I'am also unable to move it back to the Wii memory, just a delete from the SD Card and a reinstall of the channel to the Wii memory solves the problem.

What can I do to be able to run the channel installed via wad manager from the SD Card?

    Thanks

You problem is different from mine.
I can access the SD Menu, the problem is when starting the channels it gives the error.

I had your problem also and I resolved it by removing the "private" folder from the SD Card (and any "boot.elf" you may have on the root of the SD).

I read that, because I have a modchip, I don't need that folder anyway. After that I could access the SD Menu with no problem, besides the one launching the channels.

gen3sf i reformatted the 8GB card on my pc and it still gave me the error, so i switched to a different sd card (kingston 2GB) put all my files on it and the HBC browser worked. now i'm just having difficulties with the dvdx and playing DVDs, but if i can't get that to work its really no biggy, i was never planning on watching dvds on my wii anyway.

    much thanks

    plastik,

Ok, we'll leave at that then It's just as well not to overuse the Wii"s DVD Drive anyway, if you can help it. Because, of course, when and if it breaks down, you'd be without the Wii for awhile waiting for the repair to get done:-)

    grooman,

try the transfer with a different SD card, preferably a 2GB SD with the SanDisk the best choice of all. Format as FAT32, transfer the channels again and hope for the best.

    I solved the problem.

The solution was to install IOS60patched that Dogeggs attached in other post in this forum.

It was a matter of installing that wad with Wad Manager and thats it, it now loads games from SD Card with no problem.
