    plastik,
you can try to reinstall your DVDX and emulators using the Homebrew Channel Browser. get it here: Homebrew Browser - WiiBrew.

Once you get the HBC browser active: DVDX is under the Utilities tab and emulators have their own Tab. Good Luck.

    Cordazbay:

Just as bootmii is a safety procedure so is the preloader. Bootmii is more passive in that a backup of your Wii system is created and should be stored in a safe place on your PC HDD or more copies. The preloader loads before the system menu, thus, allowing you to maintain a means to access the HBC in the event of a brick. The preloader also, using the hacks.ini options, allows you to set such options including one to designate no disk update-from a game disc)-so your custom settings will not be overwritten possibly causing a brick.

    WiinubE,

This tutorial has a link to to another truly excellent Dogeggs tutorial. http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...y-wii-149.html

As you will see in reading the second tutorial, options for USB Loader GX-the front loader you wanted and NeoGammaR7, a backup loader are provided. This current tutorial uses Step 2 get cIOS that is described in the more complete softmod guide.

You can either re-do all your steps following the new guide or skip just the identical steps. Read very carefully though if you decide to skip some steps-make sure they truly are redundant steps.

One important hardware note. Some of the steps are really fussy about the SD card, get yourself a SanDisk 2GB SD, format as FAT32. Good Luck.

WOW thank you for the info.
There is so much to learn with this. If I can manage to finish with the above steps, do I just "get" ISO? OR will I need to "get" WADs?

    WiiNube:

Any WADS you come across in the future can be installed with the WAD Manager that will be downloaded with the SoftmodPack.rar

ISOs are a another issue-there is a forum on this site that you can look at at your leisure - do search for it-name has the words burning and dumping games or DVDs

thanks for the help gen3sf, i got my emulator to work however i installed dvdx via a separate DL using the HBC and i put a dvd in my system and it still says unrecognized disc.

Then i dl'd and went to open the HBC browser and it popped up a black screen after initializing network and said i had a SD Card FAT error, not sure what that means, i've been doing fine with the card and all the other apps and emus on it seem to work fine. I have a Kingston 8GB card and my HBC version is IOS61 v19.26 (1.0.3)

    thanks

yaaaaaaay!!! I tried something that usually works for me and it fixed my mediafire problem. I "disabled my personal Firewall" and "Snoozed my Anti Virus portection" (before clicking the TRB link)for like 1 minute (or just long enough to DL the file) and I was able to DL the TRB fire no prob. I hope this helps someone.

    plastik,
The Wii can be annoyingly picky and inconsistent about those darn SD cards. Save your files on a PC, reformat that SD card to FAT32, copy the files back and try again. If that still fails, could be one of your SD files has been corrupted-re-DL anew. Plastik-the unrecognized disk-it is a movie disk right? Not a backup game disk?
