I assumed that backup loader is a kind of USB loader.
so I jumped into installing USB Loader GX right after I got this on wii.

    my problem starts here..
after I load USB Loader GX, It prompted to make WBFS partition by clicking "format", and I unlocked it using default key "ab121b"
then I tried to install games.

suddenly, screen goes to black, then appears exception error that seems like the attachment and freezed. the code on that image is not exactly mine because it's just an example of others. If you guys need original image of error code, I'll post it soon.
also tried to use WBFS manager3.0, but showed me an error message too.
I used WD 500GB for External HDD. formatted in NTFS, Default allocation unit size
questions begins here.. it's a lot.. sorry.. PLZ have patient.
what is my problem that prevent me from installing games?
do I miss something before using USB loader?
and I noticed from youtube that others have usb loader channel on their Wii, but I don't have one. does it matter?

Is it o.k. to delete WAD files that are left on my SD card after the programs they correspond to have been installed?

I realize that I can delete any VC WADs left on my SD card since they are now on the Wii's internal HD, but I'm a little nervous about getting rid of the IOS WAD files from the TBR Pack and other installs.

Any words of wisdom concerning getting rid of old WAD files left on my SD?

BTW, Dogeggs, thanks for all the dedication you've put into this forum. Keep up the good work.

    @ _kajl.
Don't do a system update. When you are in Trucha, and its asking whether you want to modify IOS36 or IOS37, pick 36, then change all of the "yes" answers to "no" and change the second option from teh top as well, and then the top line will change to "Install IOS36" instead of "Install Hacked IOS36" (I think that's what it said, I could be wrong).

Press A and Trucha makes you a copy of IOS36.

This will work on any wii, 3.0-3.4, 4.0, 4.1, LU64+ & foreign equivalents
You need the HBC for this to work, so if your Wii is a total virgin then install it first.
This will also enable Preloader to work on LU64+ models.
TAKE OUT ALL GAMECUBE MEMORY CARDS/CONTROLLERS
There's a video you may want to have a look at too.
If you want a different cIOS to r14 have a look here.
Format your SD card with this tool if you get any errors.

    Download TBR

1: Copy files to SD card, all IOS go on the root, the 3 apps in the 'apps' folder. It should look like this when done.

2: Go to Homebrew channel and run Trucha Bug Restorer, load IOS36, press 1, read the warnings then select 'downgrade IOS15', select to load IOS from SD card then let it do its job.

3: Run Trucha Bug Restorer again this time load IOS15 on first screen, select the IOS36 menu & install patched (select 'yes' on all 3 patches) IOS36 to slot 36, again using IOS from SD card.

4: Run Trucha Bug Restorer again, load IOS36 and this time select restore IOS15.

5: Run cIOS38r14 installer select IOS36 as the one it should use and then select wad install.

Done! If you want a backup launcher and preloader then have a look at this thread.

    Hi there,
May I ask for some advice? I loaded the cIOS38 rev14 successfully following the instructions to the letter, now though, SD / USB Loader 1.5 cannot detect the hard drive.. 'no partition found etc..' Was previously working OK.. Any thoughts?
Games and partition still appear on the PC in WBFS 3.0?
    (4.1 + HBC 1.01 + SD/USB Loader 1.5)
    Thank you

I read on another site, GBAtemp, that apparently one of the USB ports in the back is for for peripherals and HUB, and the other is for external memory.

    Read it here.

Whether you wanna believe the guy that said it is up to you, I'm just passing along a possible explanation....

As far as I've been looking around, this has been THE BEST tutorial, 100% Working.
I did it on a virgin 4.1U Wii Starting with LU70.

Regarding the Homebrew Channel, I had problems with hackmii installer load it as boot via bannerbomb, so I used bannerbomb with loadMii as the boot loader, then from loadMii, I was able to run hackmii installer without a problem.

Another tip is, if you run backup louncher, don't use the cios that comes with it. Instead, follow this tutorial.

Finally, to install usb loader, I followed this tutorial which is great:

    GOOD LUCK
