Okay this is weird:
So my sister gave me her wii so i can mess with it and, just finishing step 3 when returning to the homebrew channel i notice its upside down?
What's that about? Restarted my wii (which runs sys menu 3.4u, only has HBC installed via bannerbomb, and steps 1,2,3 from this guide.. nothing more) and everything still runs fine
Since step 4 and 5 dont modify IOS36, and HBC uses that IOS am I stuck with an upside-down HBC? What else uses IOS36?
Many thanx in advance!
1: Copy files to SD card, all IOS go on the root, the 3 apps in the 'apps' folder. It should look like this when done.
2: Go to Homebrew channel and run Trucha Bug Restorer, load IOS36, press 1, read the warnings then select 'downgrade IOS15', select to load IOS from SD card then let it do its job.
3: Run Trucha Bug Restorer again, this time using d-pad left/right to change the IOS, load IOS15 on first screen, select the IOS36 menu & install patched (select 'yes' on all 3 patches) IOS36 to slot 36, again using IOS from SD card.
4: Run Trucha Bug Restorer again, load IOS36 and this time select restore IOS15.
5: Run cIOS38r17 installer select IOS36 as the one it should use and then select wad install.

@seed-there is no problem associated with the flipped HBC. It's a code by the HBC projrct team to show their displeasure to pirates. HBC will re-right itself on reinstall. Just reinstall and it will re-flip.

Hello, I've been reading through all of the tutorials that are stickied on this section of the forum, and I think this is the place for me to start. I really appreciate the time and thought that has gone into these tutorials.
I have a Wii with 4.1U firmware installed. I Homebrewed my Wii last August using BannerBomb. My serial is LU35xxxxxxx
I was unable to install BootMii using Boot2 (lame), and as far as I can tell when I HomeBrewed it installed IOS254.
My final intent is to get the USB Loader to run my games off an external HD...my kids have already destroyed two disks.
Is it possible for me to go back and install BootMii in boot2? If so, I would REALLY like to go that route...or do I just pick up at step #3?
After I successfully complete this tutorial, I plan on using this guide: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-usb-hdd.html
Thanks for any help/suggestions!
