    About the wii:
I'm using a 2gb SD card, tried two different ones.
I have an LU65 Wii with firmware 3.4U

    Events:
First, it is a brand new wii, so I did not setup the internet connection.
Proceeded with the installation, followed instructions, skipped step 7 because I have a 3.4U

In the WAD batch installer, it seems like it's going fine, gets to the the line
">> Finishing title installation .... OK!" for CIOS249
then it freezes. It never gets to the line next line
    "CIOS249 detected and loaded!"

I have to hard reset the Wii. When I try to run the WAD Batch installer again using LoadMii, the freezes before it can load at "Clearing CSS" - and then needs a hard reset. I tried several times, it seemingly can no longer load the WAD Batch Installer.

Tried using WAD manager, and choosing IOS249 in the first step freezes the system as well and needs a hard reset.

    ----------
    Things I've tried:

I tried setting up my internet connection and connected just fine, disabled Wiiconnect24 and tried it again. Nope.

Tried on a different SD card. Nope.

Already mentioned tried to go through WAD manager. Nope.

    ----

Should I try uninstalling IOS249? I hear it's risky and I can brick my Wii.

I read on other forums someone with the same issue, but nobody seemed to have an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
If you have a LU64/LU65 you should follow this guide which is in tutorial section http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...-lu64-fix.html

hi i have the same problem with mine, but i have firmware version 4.0U... idk if that makes that much of a difference but yea...

i went and got on bannerbomb and went to downgradeIOS35.dol and clicked on it, then clicked on downgrade again and waited for it to finish, then went back and went to wadbatchinstaller.dol and pressed A and the error popped up.

i tried it again, but this time when the downgrade finished, i clicked on patchMII, but when tht finished it went back to the bannerbomb main page. so i went to the wadbatchinstaller.dol again and the same thing happened.

so i tried it again but THIS time after patchMII finished i went back to the downgrade menu and tried install DVDX, and when i tried tht a different menu popped up and then the screen went blank and nothing responded... please help T_T

Problem with the SD/USD Loader Error

I did the intallation just like your PDF explained and everything worked fine. I know wanted to use my usb external harddrive. The first time I went to the SD/USB Loader I formated the drive as you said it would ask. The problem is once I did that I clicked on the icons on the top of the screen wo see what they were. When I clicked on the third one I get a black screen with writing which is an error.. Now when I ever go into the SD/Loader and plug my harddrive this screen comes up.. What is happening and how would I fix this..

The window you are reffering to is only for widescreen display of images. I had same problem running on my kids CRT TV. I will load a new file in the next few minutes as GX loader channel can no longer update cover images. You have to use gx loader forwarder which will update cover images and allows games like Ghostbusters etc to work.
