Wii Softmods for Dummies 4.1

This is one of the easiest one I have found so far and I spent all last night taking a 3.2E with Starfall, SD/USB GX, HB, Etc, to as Virgin as possible 4.E and back to 3.2E original and then 3.2E with the goods. I used other apps to bring it back to Virgin.

Not recommended for LU64/LU65 or any Version above 4.1.

Just follow the PDF and you will be fine, I replaced the original SD/USB loader with SD/USB GX Loader 1.0, Changed IOS 36 to 38 updated cIOS R10 to 14.

*Read PDF first as you have to execute a file that will ask if it is above or below 4.0* and format and install SD card with appropriate programs.

Hi,

I have tried the above guide but i get ERROR! (ret = -1035) when i try and to the wadbatchinstaller. Any ideas how to fix this? I am on firmware 4.0e

Did you follow the PDF:

f. Refer to step 4 to determine your firmware version.
• Old firmware (below 4.0): Wad Batch Installer will be launched. Jump to step 8
• New firmware (4.0 and above): LoadMII will be launched. Go to step 7 to downgrade your Wii (mandatory).

I have used my file that has GX loader incorporated.

Cheers this worked perfectly, i have been trying to do thin for a few days now and your guide really helped. :)

It is giving me an error also when I unzip it saying there is an unexpected end of the archive.

Hey I was able to softmod my wii with firmware 4.0e, so why was downgrade manditory in this case?

If you don't downgrade you won't be able to install Cios's and Wads, this prevents programs like Starfall or Preloader which can recover a Semi bricked Wii, or can prevent installed channels meaning you have to run applications from SD card.

The guide was written for the most stable firmware version which is still 3.2.
