Couple of questions
Ok, I have read through the tutorial several times and started the upgrade on my 3.1 Wii. I am up to step 4 and I think I have run the IOS60 patch, but I'm not completely sure it took. Is there someplace I can go to see if it is installed? Should I run it again? One more question. I understand that I need to upgrade to 4.0 before going to 4.1. I downloaded 4.0, but I'm not sure how to run it. 4.1 has a spot in the homebrew to launch, but not sure where to place the folder with the 4.0 firmware so that I can launch it in homebrew. Also, do I need to run IOS60 between 4.0 and 4.1 upgrade again? To recap:
1) Where can I see if IOS60 is installed?
2) Where to place 4.0 firmware on card and how to launch?
3) Do I keep WiiConnect off during firmware upgrade?
4) Do I need to install IOS60 again after 4.0 in up and running before upgrading to 4.1?
Great forum. Thanks for all the info!

My wii is 3.2, i did all up to step 3. I'm on step 4 and 5. IT says its all optional.... But it says 5a and5 d is the only one not optional?
But it says i need IOS60. And that is true step 4. So i am doing that, but it says i neeed IOS60 first in order to get IOS60? HOw the HELL does that make sense? So can someone explain to me in english or just simplier, how to do step 4? Maybe even 5? THANK YOU.

howyoudoing IOS60 patch is in wads. if ur not sure if u installed it run it again making sure u follow steps. then update to 4.0 then 4.1...
once u got the 4.0 file create a folder and name it say firmware4.0 and put the files in there. put that folder in apps just like where the firmware folder for 4.1 is. also rename the dot file to boot.dol.... hope that helps

I got everything done and now I need to figure out how to update to the new NeoGamma to play New Mario Bros. The new NeoGamma I have doesn't have a WAD like the one I used with this tutorial. How do I install the new NeoGamma?

Only Site Donators Can PM Staff
Try one of the alternates listed in the tutorial - starpatch, etc.

If it's a .dol file, create a folder with /apps on SD card with the files put inside it ("/apps/NeoGamma," that idea). Rename the .dol to boot.dol and launch via HBC. As for NSMB, read this forum and any NSMB questions go there.

Hi all, Happy New Year!
What is the different between wad install and .dol? If I installed NeoGamma as Wad on this tutorial and the latest update I've download was .dol. Do I need to uninstall the old Neogamma through wad manager and do the .dol install using HBC? I am really confuse on the difference of these files.
