put the bootmii files from your sd card somewhere safe on your pc - bootmii and hbc will still be installed on your wii so no need to reinstall - if you want to run bootmii copy the files that you have stored safely on your pc back onto your card then switch on wii with card inserted....do you follow?! you should be able to pick the guide up at step 3...

@dogeggs: I've deleted Bootmii directory from the SD Card but still it boots into the screen, hitting reset isnt a big deal but just wanted to know why this happens. Thanks.

I presume you mean step 2?...because i still not backed up my NAND yet.
Okay, i will copy all files from old SDHC to the new SD card and try to boot from it and continue from step 2.

Hi peeps i have been follwing this guide and i have completed step 1 & 2 and backed up my NAND. Bootmii would only install as an IOS not boot 2, im a bit worried about going any further as there is no preloader installed yet as this is step 5 and i have already bricked my wii once and had to send it back to get repaired by nintendo already (my own fault for not reading guides properly) is it safe to do step 3 without a preloader? Any advice would be great thx!

@gold - make sure you have deleted bootmii/armboot.bin and bootmii/ppcboot.elf from your card (and backed them up on your pc)

@emo - step 3 is safe, thousands of people have done it and i've never heard of anyone bricking...

    Seems everything fine now! Thanks.

PS: Where can we get a list of working (tested) wii games? Tried Resort and Okami and isnt working... Mario Soccer does.

I copied all files from my Transcend 16GB SDHC card to my new Sandisk 2GB SD card. It booted into bootmii!
I managed to backup the system to NAND.BIN, but it had 1 bad block and when it was doing the verify afterwards...i got all "f_lseek(xxxx) failed 2" passing up where xxxx is a number.
Was the backup okay???...can i continue to step 3 now???
I copied all files from the SD card to my PC already.

    Update:
i tried a 2nd backup...this time still same bad block at 1343, but verify process went without errors??? How come?
Maybe because first time i booted into bootmii, pressed the reset button and it rebooted? Second backup i just booted and backed up directly.
(sorry had to understand the power/reset/eject button was for navigation and selection )

Hmmm...i see that 1st backup nand.bin was 0K in size. Second one is 528MB. Still bootmii had said verify successful at 1st backup. You better check your file size people to be sure!

So i think i can continue to step 3 now after successfull backup/verification...
