    Hi, I'm a newb so be gentle. I have firmware 4.0U, and at step 1d I get the creating directory /bootMii... mssg, then an error 2. So I clicked back and did tried to run the uninstall bootmii and that gave n error unable to flush log to SD card, my only option was to exit but clicking it nothing happened I clicked several times and let it sit for about 5 mins just to be safe, nothing. The power button, nor the rest buttons worked so I had to unplug the power. Now when I get to step 1d and the creating directoy /bootmii... the system locks up, Ive given it about 10 minutes and still nothing. The system still boots up and works fine, but I cant get past step 1d. Ive reformatted my SD card (It is 1 gb) and re-downloaded the "Wii Softmod Files 121309.rar" file and copied back to a fresh formated SD and I get the same results.

    I think that error on uninstall of bootmii is causing all of this hassle. Is there a way to force it uninstall, or anything? I dont have an uninstall option in any of the menus working up to step 1d. Please any help would be much appreciated.

    EDIT: Not sure if it means anything, but I do not have option to install as a boot2

    Hello guys! First I have to say that this is the best site I have seen so far around the Wii's and a very useful guide.

    I only have a quick question. I have been trying to hack my Wii for some time now and have I tried some mod packs that i downloaded from the internet before I found this site and nothing worked so far. I only managed to install the HBC and then i usually get an error 1035.
    I am asking you because i am scared of the brick, should i try this guide right away and see what happens or should i use first the "AnyTitleDeleter" to delete the ios249 and then start over?
    My Wii has a 4.0E Firmware.

    Thanks a lot in advanced...

    @greek-yes, please use AnyTitleDeleter, be very careful with your button presses, delete only IOS249. Then you can follow the tutorial-skip the HBC install part of Step 1 as you already have it. That error code suggests that your previously installed IOS249 might have some problem and might not be easily overwritten by just running a different cIOS installer.

    @hendin-Step 4 network problems-did you set the Internet access for the Wii? You need to ID the SID and give the Wii access to your wireless router by entering te WEP or WPA password. Also, sometimes the two just miss signals sometimes-restart the router and wireless modem and try again. Make sure WiiConnect24 is set to OFF.

    The wii needs to be connected to wi-fi?

    @miskamakus-let's try another NeoGamma download:Neogamma R8-b7-NGBL.rar

    @vibraxus-bootmii is having problems with your SD card. Try using another one.

    Yes. Let me know if your Wii does not have access to Internet-ID your Wii sysmenu and region version.

    Homebrew channel upside down - Uninstall HBC using Bannerbomb and reinstall, using Bannerbomb. It will reselect a different IOS and be fine. They did that as a 'we don't promote Game Piracey' thing.

    Thanks a lot gen3sf for the very quick reply. I will now try to start over with this guide after I delete ios249 and see what happens.
