    Hi guys,

    I have used the method on the first page to install HBC and Bootmii, the Bootmii could only be installed as Ios and not as Boot2.
    So I can not backup NAND.
    Is the NAND backup recommended?
    Are there any other way to backup the NAND?
    I have not done any downgrades yet, just installed HBC and Bootmii, is it safe to downgrade?
    I am on 4.0 dash with a Wii bought 1 week ago.
    Are there any things I should regard before finalising the hack?

    I just want to hack it to play games through Usb Loader, do not need any other homebrew

    Thanks

    When bootmii can only be installed as IOS, a NAND backup can be done; its value is lessened as there is no bootmii that will install before the sysmenu and FW is accessed. That is why preloader becomes important for those Wis-preloader will load early in the power-on sequence and maintain access to HBC for your Wii in case of certain types of bricks. Having a backup copy of your NAND is not a bad thing. You should not downgrade your Wii's system menu. If by downgrade you refer to an IOS modification made during Step 3, bynall means, please proceed. You can run Step 2 and have a NAND backup.

    @Azby - Try a different SD card.

    @karmatikal - you installed IOS60patched, but did not complete an update to 4.1. That is all I read. I see no problem that would prevent your Wii from playing a backup disc. When NeoGamma loads if the screen reads IOS249rev14, then you successfully installed a cIOS in Step 3. Your system menu version is not critical to playing games. If everything else works in your Wii, I would just consider that each Wii and its DVD drive are not identical-try a few more games. If you want to update to 4.1 and have no Internet connection to your Wii-it can be done offline. Post back with your Wiis current sysmenu version and region.

    Gen3sf,
    Thank you for replying
    With downgrade I do mean step 3, so I'll do that later.

    One more quick question
    Can I follow all the procedures in Step 5?

    Thanks

    @nozila-Unless you have a problem-you should be able to access HBC from your normal system menu. To install cIOS56, go to HBC, select Wad Mgr-leave the settings at the default IOS249 and SD card slot. Locate cIOS56.wad on the SD card and install.

    @sandrob-for the purposes of this softmod process a 2GB SD is best. if buying new-try a SanDisk SD. Good luck with your softmod. Following successful completion of this tutorial. Go here for your HDD setup:http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-usb-hdd.html.

    @robotech-preloader's coder has stopped support. Priiloader is the successor and is on version 0.2. You can download from HERE. You can use one of the preloader hacks to skip the health and safety screen-read more about the available preloader hacks options here: Preloader/hacks - WiiBrew

    @t904-you can confirm that cIOS was successfully installed in Step 3 by booting up NeoGamma-you should see IOS249rev14 on the lower part of the screen. If not-re-do Step 3, if good-maybe bad ISO burn. Use ImgBurn or Nero software to burn ISO to Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R blanks at burn speed of 4X, if fail try 2.4 or 2X and 1X if possible. Also try another DVD burner if available.

    @specter-don;t see too many Korean Wiis that have not been overflashed with another region's system menu, but I believe you should be able to softmod your Wii following this tutorial. If Bannerbomb continues to freeze-check here for other version files: <link rel="File-List" href="file:///C:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5Cmpq%5CLOCALS%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmsohtm l1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml"><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:PunctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <wontGrowAutofit/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" LatentStyleCount="156"> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:Wingdings; panose-1:5 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0; mso-font-charset:2; mso-generic-font-family:auto; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:0 268435456 0 0 -2147483648 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {color:blue; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {colorurple; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} /* List Definitions */ @list l0 {mso-list-id:466360326; mso-list-type:hybrid; mso-list-template-ids:-851777030 67698689 67698691 67698693 67698689 67698691 67698693 67698689 67698691 67698693;} @list l0:level1 {mso-level-number-format:bullet; mso-level-text:; mso-level-tab-stop:0in; mso-level-number-position:left; margin-left:0in; text-indent:-.25in; font-family:Symbol;} ol {margin-bottom:0in;} ul {margin-bottom:0in;} --> </style><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} </style> <![endif]--> <!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->bannerbomb

    @ahboy-did you previously install cIOSCORP on that Wii? If so, you need to read their files about what cIOSCORP does to the Wii. <o></o>
