I have followed this guide to the letter.
    Got home brew channel working.
My problem is that I can not get my wii to recognize (see) my usb harddrive.
Formatted it to fat32. It's WD 250gig sata drive.
YES I have been searching and reading this site for the past 10 days.
I know I am doing something wrong, but being a aged newbie I need all the help I can get.
Could someone please point me in the right direction as to get this problem solved so I can play backup games from my harddrive.
My Wii is only 4 weeks old and it came with system menu 4.1E (Australian). Tried installing sd/usbloader but nothing happens.
    PLEASE help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's up with the cIOScorp 3.1 download? Has it been fixed?

Isn't that how to use backup copies burned to DVD-Rs from ISOs?

Have you tried a USB key and see if that's recognized? I've installed several .wads and noticed it only worked on the USB port on the DVD side (top one if lying flat).

Now if you're trying to use backups, you have to follow the end steps, the Install USB Loader GX & WBFS Manager 3 steps, apparently.

    Hopefully this helps.

I'm thinking about getting a 250GB HDD for backups myself. $60 at Walmart currently.

I missed that little detail, as well.

    Too many moving parts. LOL

BTW, you might want to remind the noobs in the tutorial to fix their hacks.ini and put it on the root of the SD, per the README for preloader.

I start the Wii and it the preloader loads fine.I completed 5d hoping it would fix it but it did not.

I can access HBC and "Settings." Can not access "Systemmenu Hacks," the error says "No hacks for your systemmenu version(v385) were found."

"Systemmenu" says error: "The system files are corrupted. Please refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting."

I completed 5d hoping it would fix it but it did not. I've tried all of the NTSC hacks.ini files and none seem to work. I've also tried the NTSC ones posted in this thread, those did not work. Yes they were labeled correctly, yes they were put in the root of the SD card.

    Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.
If I do step 5a will this solve my problem by overwriting the preloader???

re-read the tutorial, it's in there as of yesterday... and the hacks.ini files are already named properly.

Preloader is also an optional install, if you don't want it just skip b & c, system menu hacks can be taken care of by Starfall (3.2) or startpatch (4), if you want them click my sig and have a look through my mediafire.

    a) If you are on system menu 4/4.1 use Wad Manager with default settings (IOS249 & SD card) to install IOS60patched.wad - make sure you do this before you install Preloader.

b). Open the Homebrew Channel and load Preloader, press 1 to install. After install, your Wii should reboot and load the Preloader menu. If it doesn't, turn your wii off and on again whilst holding down reset and it will load the Preloader menu.

    c) Select 'system hacks' in the Preloader menu, and enable the hacks that you want - 'skip disc update check' and the region free ones are all you need. Select 'save settings' and wait for confirmation message to display 'settings saved'. Press B to go back, and enter Settings. Set 'Autoboot: System Menu' using D-Pad, then select save settings. Press B to return to main Preloader menu.

    Now, where again is it?
