Now, onto the USB Loader GX problem. First-did you successfully install cIOS38rev14? A quick check is to bootup NeoGamma and look at the main screen-it should display IOS249rev14. If NeoGamma does not display this or also has a black screen, you should carefully re-do Step 3.
First thank you for the quick response.
NeoGamma did show a black screen so I re-did successfully Step 3.
Retried NeoGamma and still black screen, so I re-did 4c) as well successfully . Still same problem, black screen in neogamma.
I went into usb loader gx from hbc and on the credit page (under settings) it shows at the top IOS249rev14. So that thing must be installed but not luck with any channel loader (neogamma, usb), just a black screen. Any idea.

    Please help.
    Thank you

    Thanks for the tute.
Need to is relative; if you want Preloader and you don't have BootMii as boot2 then it's a good idea (Preloader isn't compatible with this version of Wii System Menu). There are alternatives to Preloader as can be found in post #1 on this thread. If you have BootMii as boot2 the importance of Preloader becomes far less.

It requires an internet connection as the app on the SD card (safe firmware updater to 4.1) downloads the update, of course. Railing that, you could find the update via a wad in Dogegg's sig at the bottom of his posts. If you do online update, configure your wireless setup on Wii (INTERNET= On, WiConnect24 = OFF). Edit: do step 5a before the firmware update!

Why didn't you use the search this thread option near top on the upside down HBC? You'd have found 100s of posts on this (hint: reinstall it, should right itself).

thanks Dogeggs. i havent done this yet as i just fixed a broken wii i got off my cousin for a steal! (10$ and all that was wrong was just a few prongs that caused the drive to keep spittin out discs.)

but it was unit only so i nee dto get the AC adapter Sensor bar av cable and a wiimote + a 1GB SD card. as i dont think my 1GB MicroSD i usally use with my DS's acekard 2i in a Micro to full SD adapter will work.

if you wish i take it down i will but i archive dit on my new forums giving proper credit to you and the others you did.

if i missed anything be my guest and correct it. (i'll be sending you a pm w/ the site address.)

The latest version doesn't get along well with cIOSCORP (beta 15 of R8). If you're not using cIOSCorp, disregard this. Also, find the wad version of NG and install/try that. For some reason the latest non-wadded versions that run off the SD cards often give people issues, whereas usually the wads (R8B7 I think can be found via simple search within this thread) is less prone to do so.

I did the search found a NTSC offline 4.1 update, problem is that my wii would be PAL (Australian wii). Also I found posts from people saying the offline update creates errors / brick.
