Are you trying to backup games on PC DVD (only select drives will read Wii disc) or are you getting this message on your modded Wii??? I find "imgburn" is a good burner and is free as well I find burning at 2X works for me using memorex DVD+R (alot of people say DVD-R work best)

Well, the tutorial was going well until I decided to install the preloader. I've went through all the steps (excluding step 2 & 4). I have a LU65 with a 3.x system menu... well, I'm 99.9% sure anyway. I am starting to doubt myself now that I can't get it working.

I start the Wii and it the preloader loads fine.I completed 5d hoping it would fix it but it did not.

I can access HBC and "Settings." Can not access "Systemmenu Hacks," the error says "No hacks for your systemmenu version(v385) were found."

"Systemmenu" says error: "The system files are corrupted. Please refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting."

I completed 5d hoping it would fix it but it did not. I've tried all of the NTSC hacks.ini files and none seem to work. I've also tried the NTSC ones posted in this thread, those did not work. Yes they were labeled correctly, yes they were put in the root of the SD card.

    Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.

If i recall v385 is a 3.4 and there aren't any systemmenu hacks for a 3.4 When you get the "system menu error" is it all choppy and hard to read?? IF so load preloader again, and it should clear the error.

just to confirm,,, you installed preloader and then did "step D" and when you restarted your Wii you got the error message? If so redo "step B" if you can't make out the screen because of choppy. Restart the Wii and hold in the reset button until you get preloader then select Home brew channel and reinstall Preloader.

Are you getting this error message on the main system menu or on the preloader system menu???

    Hey Corinos,

I had the exact same goals as you. I'm working on my usb drive at the moment, but I run all my movies through the network with my wii.

You need Mplayer CE. Get the latest version, I'm not sure what is out there right now, and then you have to edit the file in a text editor to get the player to see your shares on the network. There's a guide that came with it and it worked flawlessly for me. This is the greatest feature of all, IMO.

If you need more help, just post here later. I check every once in a while.

    Good luck!

I redid 5b a few times and nothing changed. The issue was there before and after I did step 5d. I am getting the error message once I click on the first option within the preloader screen. I can make out the 6 or so options on the preloader screen and can still get to HBC through it. "Systemmenu" and "Systemmenu Hacks" do not work. I haven't checked all the options because I don't know what some of the do and don't want to mess it up any further.

I have also re-downloaded the files from the first post and retried to no avail.

First off, thanks for this info! And thanks to Dogeggs!

I am also having trouble with the preloader part. I have an LU63... system, but it has boot2v4+ (like the LU64/65's) -- in case that matters. It is running v4.0u and has the new cIOS38r14 installed. I had to install bootmii to IOS since it'is not able to install to the new boot2v4+

Everything went well up to the preloader part. It hung at the "read carefully... ...or turn your wii off" message. I let it sit for 10 minutes, pressing 1 and other buttons, and finally did a hard reboot.

At the reboot, preloader v0.29 started. When I click on any of the options in the preloader menu, it says, "error: Found more vaules than offsets at line 36." It then times out after 10 seconds. If I hit the same menu item again, I can get the desired result, including system menu or HBC. I tried to reinstall preloader, but it says it is already installed and then reboots automatically.

In the System menu Hacks, I only get one line about region codes (I think). Should there be more choices?

How can I get preloader reinstalled correctly?

    Thanks!

If you click on Dogeggs signature block it will open his Mediafire files. Search for preloader and download Preloader-Neogamma.rar in this file there should be a folder called "For PC" open it and run the Hacksini.exe and choose your system and hacks you want. Then place the hack.ini on the rooot of your sd card...
