@jmercado - Follow the directions in Step 5C to get your Wii to bootup to your normal system menu.

@uberyoshi-you need to install IOS60patched before running FW4.1 updater

    Media Update

This is not true. I can confirm that I have successfully used Ritek, Verbatim, Memorex, Taito, and other DVD-R media without problems.

These days, the media is made by just a handful of vendors and resold as the brand names, like those listed above. Buying a Memorex today may not be the same Memorex your friend bought in another store on the same day, or even in the same store on the same day.

There are programs (like imgburn) which will tell you the real mfr of the media, but even that doesn't really matter.

Start out burning slowly your first time, and if you have a problem playing it, chances are it's another problem and not the media or your recorder.

I use a Plextor 16x recorder that's about four years old without any problems.

It doesn't have to be one of the LG drives that have been listed. I've also used my laptop's slim DVD burner without problems.

    Best regards,
    Alex

However I cannot decide to install priiloader or not, because a lot of people have issure with it. I am going through all these update only for playing new super mario bro. Before I install all these, I only get a green screen when running the game. Could anyone give me advice that should I install priiloader or not? If i don't install it and go with final step, can i install later if i find out i need it?

Thank you very much for the help.
If you decide to think about it some more, you can install priiloader later. If you were able to install bootmii as boot2 then you are protected against bricks. For Wiis that can only install bootmii as IOS, preloader/priiloader increases in its importance for brick protection.

Without priiloader, you will need to be careful not to accept a disc update-that message, rather than the forzen black screen, will signal the need to install an IOS needed by the game.

OK. Your system menu was compromised somewhere along the way. Download the correct system menu 4.1 for your Wii. If your Wii is 4.1U (US):SystemMenu-NTSCU-v449.rar . If your Wii is 4.1E (European): SystemMenu-PAL-v450.rar.

Extract the wad file using WinRar and copy the sysmenu wad file to your SD card.

Go to HBC and use Wad Manager to install the system menu wad file.

After reinstalling system menu, priiloader will have been overwritten so you will need to reinstall priiloader.

Before you show off the vast experience you have helping people with their Wiis as evidenced by 9 posts, mostly asking for help, please be aware that any DVD drive can be used to BURN the DVD ISO. The LG restriction is the inability of all but about 5 or 6 DVD-ROM readers (not burners) to read the original Wii game disc.

Further, Wiis vary in their tolerance and the laser arms ability to remain within calibration specs. As an expert, you would know that the advantage that was imparted by the invention of DVD+R technology was the ability to read the data from anywhere on the disk; just as the HDD of a PC does. The recommendations for DVD-R and Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or Ritek DVD-R discs does not come from a handful of users, but across a large experiential database encompassing multiple sites, countries, etc. Overtime, it appears that those discs have consistently dark dye lots that minimize the laser movement in trying to read the data; similarly, the DVD-R data pattern also reduces armature movement. Result is an overall improvement in longevity of the Wii Drive.

Some Wii drives can only read the Verbatim DVD-Rs; others will read any crappy DVD and may last as long as the next; others will read the crap disc, but lose calibration either suddenly or gradually. I hope yours is a lucky one, but do not presume to extend your good luck as a recommendation to the entire population.

There are always exceptions to every rule, but just as every patient who develops terminal cancer does not always die as predicted due to the cancer, one makes decisions and recommendations upon the overall population experience, not a small subgroup.
