Hey Dogeggs, I just wanted to tell ya what a wonderful guide.. I'm a complete noob and it's my 1st time trying this and got it 1st shot.. I just don't understand a few things, if anyone could help me understand this a bit.
After getting to step 3, I check my firmware on the Wii setting screen and it's 3.2U..is it supposed to stay 3.2U? Homebrew and all is installed fine. I'm up to step 4 now and and wondering if i need to run FW updater 4.1 and after Priiloader?
I just want to be able to play all the newer titles on my Wii including NewSMario off the SD card.

Thanks in advance guys please replay asap, Im kinda stuck

    -Sal

sorry,I was so tired last night.

So, I believe you wish to stay at system 3.1U, you did install bootmii as boot2 and have a NAND backup, you also wish to use preloader/priiloader. The white screen is a mucked up system menu. Tomorrow, when you are fresher, you will either reinstall your 3.1U system menu or choose to update to 4.1.

I managed to install the System Menu b4 went to sleep, downloaded a file somewhere. It says their now 3.2U but it still doesn't play my PAL game?

If you update to 4.1, remember to first install IOS60patched before running the 4.1updater. Also Internet access ON; WiiConnect24 OFF. Then redo Step 5B.

Will sort first my internet connection, the Wii can't detect my Access Point

If you choose to stay at 3.1U, please post that as I have to go look for it and upload for you-it's not in dogegg's files. I can get though, no worries there. You will also then reinstall priiloader in Step 5B, and download the 3.2U hacks.ini file from http://www.wiibrew.org.preloader/hacks and place that file in the root directory of the SD card.

Edit:found the 3.1U sysmenu file and have uploaded it now. Download the 3.1systemmenu.wad file from here: System Menu-3.1U-v257.wad
    Edit:

Managed to update to 4.1U without errors. Now,I can't seem to install the Priiloader? It keeps aborting. How do I install a "fresh" Priiloader? Thanks in advance!

Thanks heaps for this, so glad you have made it 'Idiot Proof' so I can understand it. Didn't install Priiloader, just the Neogamma etc. New Super Mario Bros is working from your guide now. I downloaded the Full Iso, used WiiBrickBlocker, and it was still crashing after a few minutes of playing the game. Followed your guide, and now my husband is playing away with no problems.

Thanks once again, I'm sure I'll be calling upon your help again when Nintendo change their protection things again.

Finding the time to do mine later, dont know where yesterday went and dont think I'd get it right first time with the kids running round so maybe wait til tonight.

I started to dl some titles ready but they're coming through a bit slow; the file types are .rar is this the correct file type to play them straight from sd or hdd? or will i need to do something to them?

    Thanks in advance.

You need to extract .rar files as this is a Winrar format

Right click the top file and select "extract here", this will generate an ISO file for you, the is now the correct format for burning, etc, etc.

Is NeoGamma needed for playing USB HDD backups?

    Hi,
I have a new black LEF501 with D3-2 with 4.1E. I know that I won't be able to play DVD backups with this chipset. I'm going to play a few DVD original games (maybe) and backups from USB HDD (mainly).
The tutorial is clear and great and I am definitely going to follow it. Many thanks for it.

    My 2 questions:
    1) Is installing NeoGamma as the very last not optional step of this tutorial mandatory or could it be possible just to install USBloaderGX instead?
So that if I want USBloaderGX (or other USB loader) do I have to install NeoGamma as well or the cIOS is the only must?

    2) Is loading USB HDD backups from NeoGamma working in the SW from this tutorial (after mandatory steps)?

    Thanks,
    Tomas
