are you sure that step a has completed successfully?

Hi Dogeggs, and thanks for this amazing tutorial!
I started with a virgin v4.1E PAL Wii.
I went through step 1 flawlessly (installed as an IOS), and i ignored step 2 (haven't got the GC-controller)
In Step 3.d i got an Errormessage in the installationtext -
"installing custom ios, please wait...
>> install ERROR (ret = -2011)"
I tried to ignore this message until i discovered the same error in the installation in part 5.a.
I have already googled the errormessage, but without luck
I really hope you can help me with this
It seems to work now! - I might have skipped a part of step 3.b
Anyways, I got it working by redoing step 3. I am truely happy now! ^_^

It says its completed successfully so as far as I can tell yea it has. I've tried it a couple of times but to no avail, I'll keep trying. No doubt its human error on my part lol.

DogEggs, I updated from the 2.2 via the net to 4.1 and everything is working fine. Thanks for all your help.

A Big Thanks!
DogEggs, you’re the Man!
I had heard a rumour that it was possible to backup my Wii games, but had no clue how to do it.
I spent weeks downloading and trying various methods. The problem with the Internet and Google is that you spend ages reading and understanding a certain method only to discover that it is out of date and no longer applicable.
Eventually I stumbled upon wiihacks.com and your tutorial. Fortunately I had, by this time, already installed HBC and backed up my NAND, so was reasonably confident that I would not brick my machine.
Your tutorial went through smoothly – I decided not to upgrade from 3.4E and not to install the Preloader.
Lastly I installed the USB Loader GX and WBFS Manager 3 and now have an 80GB drive successfully running off the back of my Wii, containing backups of all my games!
Thanks to you and all the other guys like Bushing, Team Twizzers, Comex, Waninkoko, Wiigator, Wiipower & Crediar who put in so much hard work

DogEggs I got it sorted, it was my own fault. Thanks once again for the great tutorial, just gonna install USB Loader GX now and I'm ready to roll.

Random noob here, I just want to add my experience to hopefully save someone the trouble.
Issues aside, great tutorial, seriously. --Thanks
I started with a virgin Lu66 with sysmenu 3.4u. < Came from the factory like this
Don't install preloader until after you install the "waninkoko's 4.1 update". And we couldnt get the waninkoko's update working until we installed 'ios60patched'. All starting from a 3.4u.
If you try to install preloader on sysmenu 3.4 you will (may) semibrick the wii (like we did).
It would boot the homebrew menu, and preloader (our saving grace), but give an error when you try to boot to sysmenu. Its possible we did something wrong, but i had a buddy over and between the two of us we are pretty good ---at following instructions. To get it back i reloaded the 3.4u system menu wad (exact filename escapes me)
(this may be common sense for you guys, but not for us noobs).

If I play a game (for example mario galaxy), the cutscenes are pretty slow and the audio is stuttering..
The gameplay itself is smooth though..
Do you know what the issue might be ?
