    @gen3sf

(To summerize for those who won't bother going back to my original post, I can play USB loaders and other apps from the HBC, but if I install as a channel via wad I always get a black screen. Started with a new virgin Wii, with 4.1U installed from factory)

Redid step 3, made 0 difference. Wad manager will only run through the Homebrew channel. running through channel = black screen.

I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wads. Black screen.

Interestingly, I can install virtual console wads, and they play fine via the individual channels.

So, I gave up and continued to mod 3 more wii's with the same guide with no problems. Same SD card, same files and wads.

    Any other ideas?

@Styleman-Sorry to hear that. I have seen a few Wiis that have presented with a problem installing loaders as channel wads, but do just fine when loaded from HBC. No fix, as of yet. If Wad Mgr is also giving you a black screen, re-do Step 3 and make sure it goes well-watch for any error msgs.

Hey folks. Question regarding USB power and Neogamma. It seems that when I fireup neogamma, I lose USB power. Is this normal? I am trying out GH Van Helan but as soon as I load Neogamma, the light goes off on the guitar USB dongle.

Thanks in advance for any info.

    James.

Well, it looks like USB maintains power when I run NG from the HBC. But no guitar recognition for GH Van Halen, maybe because I'm using a rock band guitar???

Anyway, was a gamble, I know. Everything else is running well from disk, save SSX and Guitar Hero 5, those are black screens.

    Thanks, James.

Edit** OK, so I found out that RB guitars do not work with GH, no worries. But I just tried Lego Rockband and no love from the instruments. Mic works but droms and guitar are shut out. I have been researching a fix, problem is, they are kind of old fixes and I'm afraid they may not be compatible with my current setup. (I used the exact procedure found in the very first post)

    Thanks, James.

It is not because of the guide that this happens. It is because of the coders of HBC decided to pull a prank on those that have a patched IOS on their wii.

i am a nob on this moding stuff so is this a known problem or a bug in the install ? or is it just me because i have not find much info about it just want to know and learn.
@LiteForce-no known problem at that step. Just like PCs and other electric/computer devices sometimes you get a hiccup. Glad it worked out for you-no deeper meaning known.

@Large-my info for how to handle wad and dol files was general because I did not know how the Shop Channel/IOS61 package was handled. If you are using a .dol file-Example LargeFun.dol-create a folder called LargeFun inside the Apps folder on the SD card. Copy LargeFun.dol to that new folder and rename LargeFun.dol to boot.dol. To access the new homebrew app you would go to the HBC and will see a menu list of all such apps-select and run your new LargeFun app.

Are you still getting the 1035 error or just a black screen or a directive to go to the manual?

By re-doing Step 3 successfully (we hope) that 1035 error should be gone. As I recall you have a new black Wii console-so be prepared that the newer Wiis have a higher percentage of the D3-2 chips. That is a chip that Nintendo put in place to prevent to Wii drive from running backup games. Workaround for that is to play from USB (SD too)

Please describe the error or timing of black screen-does NeoGamma bootup for you as either a channel or within HBC.

Did you install cIOS56 from the Optional section of this tutorial. Also check out the guides for GH5 and How to get your instruments working in RB.
