Thank you so much for the guide, it worked perfectly. I am able to play backups from disk like a champ.
I have one small question though. Is there a procedure for the extra step entitled, "Install cIOS56 to play Guitar Hero 5/Beatles from the disc channel".
I DL'd the wad, but am not sure how to install the file. Since it's custom, do I still use the wad manager?
Thanks very much, you guys are wicked pissa!

Finally managed to get through the Tutorial ..... Many Thanks
But it seems i now have a problem:
The system seems to hang at random times
Example. When i am going through the system menu, and it flicks to the black screen, sometimes it just stays at the black screen and i have to pull out the power lead in order to restart the Wii.
Or when i try to set up the internet connection the hand from the controller dissapears and wont come back on untill i remove the power lead and reinsert it to reboot the Wii.
Any ideas ??

cant update firmware
Hello guys and sorry for another newbie question.
Is it possible to update the wii offline. I am running a version 3.4 system and have spent all day going through the guide above.
My main problem is at stage 4. I have installed IOS60-patched first (step 5a)
when I run firmware updater and follow guide it attempts to initialise network and thats it.
Can I do this offline and proceed with guide above?
Any help will be much appreciated

Confusion on where to begin
I'm a bit confused on where I should begin, I don't want to brick my Wii. My Wii is System 3.4U and I've had the Homebrew Channel installed since last year. Earlier this year I upgraded my Homebrew Channel it is now version 0.3.6
Somehow BootMii doesn't appear to be installed, because it does not appear when I press HOME on my Wiimote from within the Homebrew Channel. If I understand correctly BootMii is needed as the main first step to install what I need to use my Wii backups.
1. Is it possible to install BootMii as a separate installation although I already have the Homebrew Channel installed?
2. Should I simply reformat my SD card and start over with the install process using the tutorial for my Wii with System Menu 3.4U?
Sorry guys I'm not a total noob, I've hacked my iPhone and PSPs, but this is a bit confusing for me. Thanks for understanding

Followed every step and everything works great. I just have one question, after I have done all this my wii shopping channel locks up whenever I try and use it. I also downloaded the new 4.2 shop channel and I still can't seem to get it to work. Any Ideas would be verry much appreciated. Thanx again perfect guide!
