Oh, in the step 5a or the "optional 4" I got an error. When I tried to install IOS249 with wad manager, It gave an error "ERROR! (ret = -1)"

What I'm supposed to do? I'm not sure that I have 3.3 system menu but when I enter to wii settings, at the top right corner it says 3.3U.

I think you mean Install IOS60 patched? IOS249 is already installed and it's that what you are using to install other things.

    3.3U is indeed 3.3.

When you navigate through wad manager correctly you shouild find yourself with several different wads to install, IOS60 patched will be one of them. Perhaps you are trying to mount the wrong device or something.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Unhappy Possibly uninstalled IOS60, help please!

Ok. My wii is a year old. I followed these directions and it work(ed) like a charm.

However, last night, in an improper state of mind i did something REALLY REALLY stupid. Ive been using NEOGAMMA to play backedup discs. I wanted to get my external WBFS formatted USB device working with it. Neo Gamma wouldn't load the device.

I tried installing USB Loader GX but couldn't get it running.

To make a long story short i hastily made some changes and i think i must have uninstalled IOS60. Now I have the Black Screen of death I'm afraid. Tried holding down reset while powering on and still nothing. I made a NAND backup, but have no idea how to get to it with a black screen.

Can anyone help me? I'm computer savvy... it was just a hasty mistake that i'm regretting DEEPLY.

    Thank You!

    -E

So I went ahead and used this tutorial to soft mod my virgin 4.1u wii with sucess except that i get a DVD Read Error(1101) when i try and load my backups through backup launcher.
Could this be due to the new chipset

That is a media related error, make sure that you are using a good working iso and burning it on high quality DVD-R (not DVD+R) at low speeds. Verbatim DVD-R at 2.4x is recommended.
