The updater needs wi-fi as it downloads the files from online. To upgrade offline, you need to find the wads for IOS60 and the 4.1 System Menu of your region and install via WAD Manager.

How Can I Softmode When I No Longer Have HBC

    Hello,

I have a Wii version 3.4u. Recently, I tried soft-modding it using a similar guide available at a different site. I did not get a chance to test the mode, before realizing that my HBC was turned upside down.

To resolve the inverted/upside down HBC problem that resulted from the mod, I deleted the HBC from the channels list. I am trying to reinstall, it but end up running into this error:

    This installer can NOT continue!
There is no known vulnerable IOS installed on this Wii.
Please note that we will not use a fakesighned IOS Due to security reasons.

I am trying to resolve this error, reinstall HBC. I have read the thread here (http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...-cioscorp.html), and tried installing bannerbomb, but still get the same "installer cannot continue" error.

How can I do this softmod, which I find very clear, when I do not have HBC available on a system that has been somehow modded.

    thanks - Punda

    Thanks in advance -- Punda

    Hello guys,

My "Wii Shop Channel" and "Photo Channel" doesn´t work after this tutorial.
A black screen appears and the Wii stops responding at all. Even the power button.

Is that ok? How I can repair this?

They seem to be missing the needed IOS or are outdated.
Check what IOS is needed here:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-wiiware.html

You can use WiiSCU to update the IOS and Channel.

Ok, so WiiSCU is all I need to fix that problem?

I can run WiiSCU in Homebrew Channel or in other application?

I will read how to use WiiSCU in Wii to try update these things, but any help is welcome.

    Thank you.

    Us

Hi everyone, need some help. I am brand new to wii, just got it yesterday and it has 3.2U on it. My question is, should I update to 4.2 then use that tutorial or stay with 3.2U and use this tutorial, which is best? Thanks in advance for ANY help. Also, anything I need to know before I start...don't want to brick my new toy

From the insight gained here, it is best NOT to upgrade to 4.2, since there are peculiar difficulties with softmodding it (i.e., Nintendo is closing the doors on homebrew), Maybe you can upgrade to 4.1, using one of the softmodes available here. Don't go through Nintendo as it will give you a 4.2.
