Congrats!!! you have earned yourself a beautiful whit brick lying next to your tv!!

This is what happens when you try to improvise!! the only thing that will save you now is bootmii as boot2 or if you are able to go to preloader by holdong down reset while booting! (i don't think any of this will happen..)... give my regards to N

    Hi,
I'm about to upgrade my 3.2E + HBC + starfall + USB Loader GX system to 4.1E to get beatles rock band (legit disk) working. I've read as much relevant info as I can find, and have pretty much narrowed it down to this guide, and this one: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...l-working.html (thanks to Tealc for pointing me to it). There seems to be one difference between the two guides, so I'd appreciate confirmation of what I'm doing before I proceed. Here are the steps I think I need to take, along with a couple of questions:

    1) Uninstall Starfall

    2) Install Bootmii, preferably as boot2, and take a back up
    a. Why might it not install as boot2?
    b. Do I need to buy a GC controller, or will power/reset/eject buttons be enough
    c. If bootmii NAND backup doesn't like my SD card will it tell me or will I just get a bad backup (and not know about it!)

    3) Here's where there's a difference between the two approaches - the othe guide states the following:

    a. Install cIOS249 rev14

and this guide states these steps instead:
    a. Use TBR, load IOS36, select downgrade IOS15
    b. Use TBR, load IOS15, install IOS36 patches
    c. Use TBR, load IOS36, restore IOS15
    d. Use cIOS38 r14 installer

    4) Install IOS60patched.wad

    5) Restart wii

    6) Run firmware updater 4.1

    7) Install Preloader

    8) Install IOS 38, 50, 53, and 55

So what's the right thing to do at step 3. This guide is more recent, but the other guide seemed possibly closer to what I was trying to do (ie, upgrade to 4.1 with homebrew still working).

One other thing. These guides are great, but I really hate the fact that I don't always understand why I'm doing what I'm doing. Are there any definitive overviews to all of this? I've found articles that explain bits and pieces, but I'll often find other articles that contradict what I've just read.

    Thanks,
    Kev

Despite the fact that you didn't study your lesson, i ll briefly explain some of those:

    a. Why might it not install as boot2? a bug prevents it in post november 2008 wiis
    b. Do I need to buy a GC controller, or will power/reset/eject buttons be enough GC if installed as ios, p/r/e buttons for boot2
    c. If bootmii NAND backup doesn't like my SD card will it tell me or will I just get a bad backup (and not know about it!) you won't be able to do it

    3) Here's where there's a difference between the two approaches - the othe guide states the following:

    a. Install cIOS249 rev14do this selecting ios249 to use

Are there any definitive overviews to all of this?you are lazy and don't bother reading the guides!!!! I've found articles that explain bits and pieces, but I'll often find other articles that contradict what I've just read.can you pls link us to such guides???

    Thanks,

    Still bricked

Tried to reload everything hoping to override the corrupt file and unbrick. Wii is 3.4U. When I try to install preloader again the files load and then I get the Black Screen saying corrupted files. Could this be the problem and how do I uninstall preloader. ios v50 systemmenu v385 preloader v0.29

From your PC with the SD card inserted, Right Click on SD card drive letter. Choose Format>FAT32

i need to have homebrew cahnnel installed in my wii is it safe to do so now as i already
have neogamma already i have already download the soft mod pack and all ready to go
but just want to confirm if its safe enough as a precaution

You should create a file named "con" in your SD and put everything in there

    Hi guys,

    Two Questions:

    1) My Wii is 3.3 and I'm using backup launcher gamma (hacked with twilight princess and all blablabla from a year ago - based from this guide). So, should I make my wii virgin before follow this guide? Or just follow it without fear? Or do something else?

    2) Just to confirm, will this mod make the #002 bug go away?

    Thankyou very much!!!!!
    Madruga
