I followed the step 1 to install BootMii as IOS, Homebrew and DVDx. Then I tried to backup the NAND by entering BootMii from Homebrew's home menu. While I was in BootMii menu, I couldn't navigate the menu. I tried the power button ON THE CONSOLE, there was no response. I tried reset button, it DID RESET the machine. Eject button did eject the disk.

Could someone give me some hint on what's going on please. Do I have to use GC control? My Wii is runing 4.1E and its serial number starts with LAH11.

    Thanks in advance
you probably installed bootmii as ios so it is not possible, you need a gamecube controller. If you can boot your wii with sd in the slot and does not bring you to bootmii menu, then that's it.. it is not compulsory though, you can skip nand backup, as it is unused by ios/bootmii

you basically download them and read the instructions. Generally apps can be put in "apps" folder in SD and be run through HBC and channels can be installed wthrough wadmanager, just put the wads into the "wad" file in SD card and run wad manager and install

Yes the moment you do the bannerbomb hack is the moment you lose your warranty. So be careful with these hacks out there!! no rush moves, no improvisation over the guides

From what I understand, games should be burned onto Verbatim DVD-R for them to work. I don't have any of those right now but I have a ton of TDK DVD+R so I burned a game to that just to test everything out. I got DVD read error 1101 from NeoGamma.

Could the error just be from the DVD I used or could it be something else?
no its probably the DVD. Try the recommended verbatim-r burned at lowest possible speed

Talking This is the best Wii softmod guide anywhere

After having bricked 3 Wiis, I have to say a big thank you to all involved with the creation of this software and the continuing updating. No more bricked Wiis for anyone.I have now managed to mod my 4 daughters Wii, which had a serial code that started with LEH250. Consoles that had a serial code that started LEH 250 (plus at least 3 different serials included) were considered un moddable until this guide and software. so once again, a big thank you from me, my wife and all 6 of my kids

I got this problem and I found that doing an update to 4.1 through wifi was fine. i have not updated from the downloaded software yet only through wireless though I can't see any problem updating with this software if it will let you.
    hope this helped

Talking I am still quite new to this

I did not realise that you could unbrick a Wii until it was too late and had already trashed them. But it seems quite complicated restoring a bricked Wii. Or is there an easy way......
