It prepares to install bootmii first. You then say yes and it does the actual installation.

Cool Wi 3.2e softmod help ?

Hi guys, I have just got the dust off my old wii which was softmodded wayy back when on 3.2e....

I literally have not turned it on for over a year...
just turned it on this evening but i dont have the memory card I originally had the soft mod on anymore...

I formatted the wii memory in system settings (i know i probably shouldnt have done this)...but all seems well..the wii is restored to what looks like factory settings on 3.2e..

Just wondering first of all, which firmware I should aim to be on so i can play all the latest backups...

And is there a safe guide for doing so ?

    Many thanks in advance.

You are right, you shouldn't have formatted your Wii.
You want System Menu 4.1 (which isn't actually firmware btw). You should either use this guide, or mauifrog's Softmod ANY Wii guide.

Lol, no it's fine. It will just take an extra step (included in the guides) since you don't have the HBC anymore. However, in the future don't format unless someone on the staff tells you to. If something is wrong with your Wii (such as a semi-brick), formatting it can make it worse.

Yes, via HBC application there's a utility to update to 4.1 from whatever region your Wii is from. That's exactly what you do (requires wireless internet setup/configured on your Wii).
