    EDIT:
I'm sorry. The SD card is a SanDisk 1GB. It is not one of those MicroDS in an adpater. And it is formatted to FAT32.
Look at secion 2 of this guide http://www.wiihacks.com/general-home...ing-guide.html

Thank you very much vinatec, looks like I have the D3 chip (50% chance) or the D4 chip (25% chance). Looks like I will have to go the USB route. Any suggestions for a good guide to doing that?

    Thanks again.

    Hi,
Dont know if anyone can help, i followed the guide and installed with no problems and was working for about 4-6 weeks. My wii would load to the new menu where you had to navigate with power and reset but yesterday it reverted back to how it used to be, loading straight into the wii menu. All of my non backup games work ok, but not the backups. I can launch homebrew but if i exit and try and launch the bootmii menu it craps out, the drive flashes and the wii controller does nothing. When i look at the SD card on the wii there is a question mark but everything looks ok when i put it in the PC. When i load WAD manager it locks up on mounting device (SD card).
    Any ideas
    Thanks in adavnce

you could have avoided loading to bootmii all the time by renaming the bootmii folder on your sd card to bootmii_old for example (bootmii is not a "new" menu where you should boot all the time unless you want that).
maybe your card is not plugged in ? or files on it got corrupted, try backing up, reformat (no quick format), put files back on it.
OR you updated recently using an original game or pressed update when asked entering the shop channel/or set up your wifi connection.

    <--suggestions helped? press Thanks

The only thing i can think is my daughter got a game for her birthday and played it while i was at work. So it may have done an update. If this is the case, what are my options, can i remove homebrew and start from scratch with the installation. Will try to format the card again, although it recognises a card has been inserted on the wii menu.
    Thanks

    yes, updated somehow
sure. either you run through this tut again, and select IOS250 on initial wadmanager/dopmii/cIOSinstaller startup to install stuff (good you have IOS250 patched still in place).
or you can use the very first option of this Krank's Blackscreen Troubleshooting guide (same: if asked select 250 to install stuff) I am currently not sure if you would need to remove the stubs before with dopmii you got from this guide, guess it is not needed MMM from kranks guide is cool enough (or removing stubs can be done inside MMM actually, so long ago i used all those programs).
    good luck with that

dont think you have to remove stubs because you are installing new ios'/cios via wad over them....
