Hello, i have finally finished completely soft modding today.
Something Horribly went wrong and i really need some help with it.
I had the homebrew browser and i was downloading stuff from there. This is where i went wrong. I downloaded something called Homebrewfilter This is supposed to organize your homebrew.
Ok i installed this, and everything in my homebrew channel was gone except for the homebrewfilter. Ok not realizing it then this was probobally part of that application, but i thought if i deleted that homebrew app , that everything else would just reappear. But no Now Everything is gone in my homebrew channel. After all that work doing the softmod process.
Ok hear is what i tried:
First of all i backed up everything in my sd after that happened.
I tried deleting the things that had to do with the homebrewfilter. This did nothing.
Ok then i Put all the original files your supposed to put in your sd at the start of the softmod process. These Showed up in the homebrew channel.
Then I tried adding the other stuff on my sd card, and those didnt show up.
Now you see the bind i put myself in.
If anyone can help me please do. I will be very grateful.
This is very devastating, i feel i wasted 3 days of my life, and 140$ i spent on the wii.

Do you put all the application in the apps folder?
example, you want to add WiiMC
    copy the files to SD:\apps\WiiMC
in the folder WiiMC you should at least have boot.dol (icon.png, meta.xml and some more files)

What? Wasted 3 days of your life??? HB apps are free and readily available for download so just download the apps again and stick them on you sd card in the apps folder.

Have you got a hdd connected that has a fat32 partition....

You can get most of your apps from wiibrew List of homebrew applications - WiiBrew...
By the way this is the same place that HBBrowser gets the apps from....

You mentioned deleting apps. Howewver you did not delete the HBC correct? It still shows up per your description. That is why everyone is focused on getting your homebrew applications into the SD card Apps folder correctly. With a functional HBC, apps that have a boot.dol file that are correctly in the Apps folder should be displayed in the HBC menu. Is that not happening? Do you see any apps in your HBC menu or do you have a blank HBC screen with nothing but bubbles? If no HBC screen, reinstall HBC.

Reformat your SD card using the Full format option not the Quick format. Reinstall Homebrew Browser and redownload and install something. Also check your SD cfard LOCK switch-that sometimes flips itself while iserting the darn SD card. Nothing you described suggests you removed your softmod changes.

Yes there is no apps in the homebrew channel but it opens up. I have the apps in the correct folders.

After i reformat the sd, should i put any files back in it? And how would i go about reinstalling the homebrew channel?

Thanks so much for the help.

now that you have cleaned your sd card, copy everything you would like to use back to it.
please make sure you have the right folder structure on it .

    it goes like
    sdcard:\apps\Programm1\boot.dol
    sdcard:\apps\Programm2\boot.dol
    sdcard:\apps\Programm3\boot.dol
make sure you have put that right for every programm you want to use

if you want to reinstall the homebrewchannel, get the latest hackmii installer from Here.
ah.. that has to be run through hbc hehe, like put it to sd:\apps\hackmii
if nothing shows up, just do the first steps of this guide again till the installation of the hbc

    <--suggestions helped? press Thanks

I have modded a few 4.2 wiis so far, with minor bumps along the way. Yesterday I did my first 3.4 with this guide. It seemed to be so much simpler than the 4.2 mods, thanks for the great guide. Just one question, is the upsidedown hbc common with this method? I tried running the hackmii installer to reinstall it when I was finished with the guide but the wii would just freeze up in the sd menu. I did figure out that if I simply load hbc and let it ask me to update, the problem was solved.
