Don't delete it. When your done just go back and Reinstall it by following the same step as the first time you installed it.If your Homebrew Channel flips upside down then continue with the guide and when completed reinstall the homebrew channel.
Priiloader is important and highly recommended. (So is installing bootmii and making a nand backup)
Damn I suck!!!!
done with step 3 or the whole guide?
The whole guide. It doesn't matter really..You can InstallIOS61-64-v5405.zip before reinstalling HBC if you want to make sure it doesn't happen again. Or you can just reinstall HBC and it will choose an IOS that is not fakesigned (If you have one).

I don't have my wii connected to internet. where can I find offline updates for the programs this guide installs?
Regular Periodic Posting of Links
1. MIRROR SITES
If the download link does not work for you and you are not using a download manager and have already checked your firewall settings, then here are some alternative mirror sites for the softmod download: Mirror 1 and Mirror 2
Rar files can be extracted with WinRar, 7-Zip, or RarZilla.
2. Offline update to system menu 4.1. (Updates only the system menu, no IOSes or channels are updated as in the case of the network updating, so the interim 4.0 step is not performed in the offline update of 3.1 and earlier Wiis.)
Repeated failure of network update or Wii has NO INTERNET. Perform an offline update of the system menu:
If your Wii is 3.xU (US):SystemMenu-NTSCU-v449.rar
If your Wii is 3.xE (European):SystemMenu-PAL-v450.rar
(Post in the forum thread if you need to update a different region)
Download the correct system menu file for your Wii’s region. Use WinRar to extract the sysmenu wad file. Copy the wad to your SD card and use Wad Manager to install (leave at the default settings of IOS249 and SD card slot) IOS60patched and then sysmenu.wad. Proceed to Tutorial Step 5B.
3. Unable to download Firmware Updater 4.0: Mirror Site HERE . Use WinRar to extract the file and then copy the boot.dol file into the Apps folder on your SD card. Make sure you have installed IOS60patched. Go to the HBC menu and run FW4.0Updater. You may now run FW4.1updater; no need to re-install IOS60patched. Proceed to Tutorial Step 5B.
Thanks! I have softmodded my Wii succesfully.. i think.. :P
But I couldn't do the 2nd step where you make a NAND backup. And thats because the 3 buttons on the Wii don't work and I don't have a Gamecube controller...
Is there any other way to make a backup?? Cause I know it is important to have one just in case...
No other way. You can get a GC controller for $10 - $15.
Damn I suck!!!!
I have a 3.2u thats has been messed with alot by my friends. Decieded to do it on my own. did everything correct up to the point in which it recommends in the guide to update.
I want to update to 4.2 but don't know if that's a good idea...reason being that my new games (mario galaxy 2, etc) don't work because they need the system updated. So i though of using this guide to get me to a point in which i can safely update to 4.2 without bricking my wii and continuing off the soft-modding process with the other guides for 4.2 wii's. is this possible? a good idea?
Note: I installed ios-60 patched, this is where i left off and i haven't installed priiloader yet

Hi sorry for the noob questions but I really want to make sure I am on the right track, the wii I am trying to softmod right now is a 3.4U and according to step 4, I need to update it. so the link there which is "update to 4.0", I could use to update from 3.4U to 4.0?
And I want to make sure that I am doing it right, I have to go to wad manager first and install IOS60 before updating to 4.0? after that I'll continue to step 5 the final step, right?
