    Cheers,
No. no harm will be done - cios will just install over what cios you have there

Your Wii is indeed an older one-that's good because your should have been able to install bootmii as boot2 and have excellent brick recovery protection. Your Wii is currently using sysmenu 4.1 as you reported and it looks like IOS247rev17 was successsfully installed using the cIOS38rev17 installer in Step 3D. So, after all the good news why isn't your Wii working?

When both NeoGamma and USB Loaders fail, that's usually a sign of no good cIOS installation-yours looks like it's OK, but let's make sure it wasn;t corrupted-go to the HBC menu and run the Wad Manager-the default settings on the screen should be SD card slot and IOS249-if yes-then your IOS249 is fine and we move on. If not that cIOS is corrupted and we need to take care of that. If no IOS249 as a default-post back andwe will address that problem.

If IOS249 is good-let's try a few other things:
    1. If you still have all the files including the bootmii and NAND backup files on the SD card-please backup your SD card files especially the NAND.bin and key.bin files to a secure location-your PC hard drive, a backup CD disc, whatever. Now, delete the bootmi.elf file and the Private folder-no softmod files are needed for your Wii after a successful softmod-I had you make a backup of that SD in case you need it to finish this softmod off successfully-OK?
2.Now that bootmii is no longer conflicting wth NeoGamma-try to run NeoGamma again.

Post back with your results and observations-any error messages, etc.
Thank you, Krank, for joining in.
I removed the Private folder, bootmi.elf, NAND.bin and keys.bin. I did of course back them up first. WAD Manager defaults to IOS249 as IOS. So I guess that's fine then.

I tried to launch Neogamma/Neogamma Forwarder/USB Loader GX/USB Loader Forwarder as a channel but I still got the same results. I am still able to launch them from HBC however.

    Whats next?

Install IOS35-64-v3349.zip, extract to sd:\wad - You need it for forwarders.

    Others you are missing

    IOS33-64-v3091.rar
    IOS36-64-v3351.wad
    IOS61-64-v5405.zip
    Damn I suck!!!!

Backup discs run a approx 3 x speed. Where as a normal disc runs at 6 x during play.
That is probably why you are getting laggy videos and audio.
A USD HDD reads at around 8 times.
    Weigh it up?

Yes, follow the guide. You may need to update some of your IOS which we have a guide for. We have a thread for any Problem games you run into as well.
