Please review the tutorial... you don't want to accept an official update -- it'll put you @ 4.2 and require you to softmod all over again (and follow a more difficult tutorial than this one).

Hi everyone. I'm new to this, but I think of myself as pretty technical. I've spent a few days reading a lot around here. I'm tired of my kids destroying the disks for their Wii console so I've installed a mod chip and it works fine. I've successfully gone through the soft mod process because I want to put my original game disks on a USB drive so they can't destroy all these disks again. I've successfully gotten a USB Loader to work and I just have a couple of questions.
1. I didn't install the PriiLoader because I don't think I need to since I'm already mod chipped. Is that correct? Is there any reason why I need to install the PriiLoader on a mod chipped Wii?
2. I partitioned my USB drive half NTSC for >4GB files, and half for the regular WBFS partition. As I'm loading these games from the original disks (through the Wii) onto the USB drive I'm noticing that none of these games so far are larger than 4GB. In your experience, should there even be an NTSC formatted partition? If so, what % of the full drive size would you use for the NTSC partition.

Soft-mod, Boot Mii
Hello men! well you have a very good tutorial! is the most complete tutorial that i have never seen...
Well i love to do things perfectly... so am having some troubles on my wii LU66(bought chirstmas last year) And i am doing this tutorial step by step...
But i am reading right now, that boot mii is having some troubles whit SD CARDS, and you recomend SANDISK OR SIMILARS...
well the bad things is that i donot have a sandisk SD CARD... well i have a kingstone SD CARD... so can you tell me please if this card is okey to use it for this hack???
Well thanks men! see you later!!

Jestered- Very few games are actually over 4GB, that's not a big deal. I only leave a very small portion as NTSC and the only reason is it makes it able to be seen by a pc. I would install preloader because it allows you to block disc updates. 4.2 system menu kills region free for modchips and is just a horrible system menu all together. Go ahead and install preloader and disable disc updates. You'll be glad you installed it if you ever run into a hairy situation as it's a great form of brick protection.
Abull- You can give it a shot. It's hit and miss as to which cards work. If it doesn't work, just drop $7 and get a scandisk 2GB SD. I used a generic kodak for a long time no problems, but as I said, it's hit and miss.

First, the Wii has 4.1 on it and from what I've read around here, I don't plan on updating to 4.2. My modchip is supposed to be in stealth mode all the time and not detectable when doing game or system updates. This is why I was wondering if I need the PriiLoader. Do you still think I should install the PriiLoader and disable game updates?
