additional newb question (also not sure if it should be posted in this tread, but here we go)...

It has been mentioned in this guide that:

    a) If you are on system menu 4/4.1 use Wad Manager with default settings (IOS249 & SD card) to install IOS60-patched.wad - make sure you do this before you install Priiloader. If you installed it in step 4 then skip this part. Never uninstall IOS60! You will brick!!

As Hermes has released a new cIOS222 v5 installer and per his recommendation following IOS should be used as a base:

    IOS202 - install IOS60 as a base
    IOS222 - install IOS38 as a base
    IOS223 - install IOS37 as a base
    IOS224 - install IOS57 as a base

Does anyone know what the implications are of installing IOS202 with IOS60-patched as a base - I guess none, just want to be 100% sure?
IOS60 patched merely has the Trucha Bug restored; absolutely no effect with regard to Hermes. Meaning you'd be OK (be aware, V5 initially was reported as being buggy though).

    Hi Cile, hi nightstah,

thx for the quick reply guys .... Yeah I'm aware of v5 installation guidlines (unplugging HDD, etc) and v5 beeing buggy .... was reading about various issues for couple of days now.

I wasnt interested in opdating the 222, 223 and 224 (the few games I have run perfectly with Hermes rev4 & "never change a running system") ... only IOS202 with IOS60 (improved WiFi) caught my interest, as my MPlayer CE 0.76 is quite laggy and crashes from time to time (could never figure why and tried various things, but allways the same, so I was hoping for the "new" 202 to do the trick).

I quess I'll give it a try and report back to Stomp_422s tread ......

    Btw running:

    Waninkos 4.1E / Bootmii/Boot2 IOS / HBC1.0.6 / cIOS38rev17 / Hermes 222/223 v4 / CFG USB Loader v52 / PriiLoader r48 / 250WD My Passport Essentials

Update for what? All of the info on this site points to not doing that.

Have you softmodded yet? Confused here because you say after the softmod, then your response indicates during the softmod? which is it?

If you go back to page 501, post 5005 there is info on doing the offline 4.1 update. At the bottom of the softmod guide is a link for all of them system menu versions, just make sure you get the correct one. If you have a NTSC wii and want 4.1 its sysmenuNTSCU449.
