I have just finished following all the steps and I seem to have succeeded in moding my Wii, but I have just noticed during the Trucha Bug Restorer Video, that there is an option that was changed to Yes, which I think says "Patch nand permissions" in the Video but I did not so this step, is this a big mistake and can I go back and do it again? Or will that cause a brick?? I have HBC and priloader installed, plus Mplayer Ce v0.76. Thanks for any help

Best to use an update from a disk to at least be at 3.1 before using any of the current guides for softmodding. I guess the most ideal would be the new supermario brothers as it would take you to 4.1.

I am trying to make my wii a virgin again. My firmware is 4.0u. I can not get the updater to load. Just looses signal to the controller and screen goes black. Tried loading updater through homebrew.

Using new super mario brothers would be quite a bit easier if the update it does is the same as waninkoko's 4.1 updater... Is this an option with a modded wii or will this cause me to brick??

Just tried that and it didn't work. All the games I've used are NTSC and they all work in my wii, just not in hers.

Any idea on why it won't work on the actual disc channel?

You can update to 4.1 using waninkoko's safe update.Make sure you have patched ios60 installed

If your Wii is below 3.1, perhaps via another game (one of the few times we recommend allowing for a Nintendo official update). If you have some games, a good place to check to see what games have IOS or system menu updates (discs may have one or the other, or even both) is this thread.

Um, if it's a backup and you've only this softmod (no hardmod), it's not supposed to work via disc channel. The only work-around in that regard is cIOSCorp which we generally try to steer users away from (if you opt to install that, you really ought to read the readme that accompanies it; also realize this will cause some compatibility problems for your softmodded Wii in certain cases). Should you go that route, always identify your Wii as a cIOSCorp modded Wii when seeking assistance. It may also be a good idea to identify your Wii version/region and hers if you deign to reply/follow up.

If you are following the virginizing thread as can be found here, best to inquire within that thread and not here. I mean if you want a knowledgable response on this subject; this thread primarily focuses on accomplishing the softmod, not virginizing your Wii.
