OK after a few times thru the tutorial I have worked out what my problem is but need a bit of help with it.

On step 3b it says to install all 3 patches for some reason mine does not do this only does one and bang finished?

Can someone shed some light on what I am doing wrong?

By the way this is the best Wii forum on the net and recommend it to all my firends.

    Dan

Was wondering if i can follow this tutorial start to finish without problems although my wii has been previously modded. I did not do the previous mod so i do not know much about it. Any information would be helpful.

I modded my dads wii using this tutorial the other day and everything went perfect except neogamma would not load as a channel when finished, is there a common mistake that causes this to happen?? I eventually downloaded a different version of neogamma and USB loader and they will load from SD card so it does work, but would be convenient to have channels.
It is strongly discouraged to mix and match mods or tutorials for softmodding on your first problem. Suggestion: since you do not know what was done with regard to the previous mod, you could follow the virginize your Wii tutorial first as described here and then do this tutorial from start to finish. That's the best advice available, otherwise what you suggest could cause unpredictable results (we're talking anywhere between a full brick and everything is great).

On the other issue, Wiis have emerged of late that refuse to work with regard to channel installs (wads). The cause is currently not known, and most folks do not get any better results using channel forwarders, either. We have nothing else to suggest at the current time; there's always hope a fix or work around will emerge, so you are encouraged to keep in touch from time to time.

thanks for any help clearing this up!
You only have to do it once; do it right before the 4.0 update.

I'm not sure exactly what you were asking here. If you're already softmodded and on 3.1, you can begin on Step 3D (3A-C doesn't apply in your case). Then install IOS 60 patched, update your firmware to 4.0 at first, then 4.1, and so forth.

    2. Without an Internet connect for your Wii, you will need to do the update to 4.1E offline. Go HERE and download the systemmenuPAL450 file. Use WinRar to extract the sysmenuPAL450 .wad file-copy the wad file to your SD card.

First use Wad Manager to install IOS60patched, then again to install the sysmenuPAL450 wad file. Resume the tutorial at Step 5B.
thx a lot ! it really worked !
but now another issue , it says : dvd read error 1051 , i used a verbatim dvd+r written with imgburn , do i have that wii that doesn't allow me to play backup dvds ? LEH 250 + and 3.4 E , SN and ex-firmware of my wii .
thx a lot again for helping me softmodating my console !
later edit : There is a 100% chance the chipset is GC2-D2E and covered in black glue.
