@pacheco - as you Wii Drive is able to read backup discs, that error message must then refer to the quality of the burn. Try with a high quality DVD-R disc, Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, and Ritek G05 are the most consistent. Try again with ImgBurn software or Nero, again, better chances of success, we hope. And, of course make sure you source file is not corrupted-maybe try another ISO? While 4X burn speed is usually good, if you still have problems, try 2X. if all those fail maybe the drive is just bad?

I did install the ISO60 patched file, however.

My Wii appears to be operating properly (i.e. it's not bricked).

Where do I go from here? What exactly are the implications of not updating to firmware 4.0 before 4.1?

    Thanks.
You are good to go. The interim update to 4.0 first is because some pre 3.2 Wiis have problems installing everything so an interim step seems to help get to the ultimate goal of 4.1. As your Wii went through and updated to 4.1 w/o a problem-you are fine.

I have used these files many times over on wii's with no problems what so ever, but for some reason it's not liking this wii.

any suggestions from the wii geniouses??
That error code is rather specific-you forgot to first install IOS60patched. Just in case you forgot something else-you did turn off WiiConnect24, right?

Good-go to HBC run Wad Manager, leave at its default settings of IOS249 and SD card slot. Select the WAD folder and now install IOS60patched. You can now try the updater again.

Then I found this forum the best by far on the net with all the eas to follow tutorials with videos.

I have now got my semi bricked wii back to normal and have started to follow this tutorial to get my Wii which is chipped with I am not sure what kind of chip.

My problem is as follows. I get up to

    d) Run cIOS38 r17 installer, select IOS36 as the one it should use and then select wad install.

It loads the cIOS38 r17 and then my wii mote turns of and wont turn back on to continue the installation? Am I doing something wrong?

If I can get this to work then I will be hopme and hosed and be able to play my backups and know what to do and what not to do on my wii from now on.

    Thankyou Little Monsta
Two possibilities-your Homebrew Channel install may have been corrupted-use the hackmii process again as you did in STep 1 and reinstall HBC.

The other is you may not be completing all of Step 3 successfully. Re-read the Step 3 directions again and re-do watch the screen for any eror messages and be careful with your button presses. It is really easy to accidentally press B instead of A- pressing B backs you out of the step w/o an error msg to even let you know what happened.

Almost done, but issue with WAD IOS-64-v4889

Almost done, but issue with WAD IOS-64-v4889.

When I try to install it, it comes back with Error -1035. I've put another copy on the SD card, but it gives me the same error. Is my copy bad, or not needed?

I started out this procdure with 4.1U on the system.

That error means something went wrong on Step 3; carefull redo Step 3 --- realizing you must use the dpad to alter the IOS and the value to reflect what the tutorial calls for (neither the IOS nor the value default to what needs to be there). Also, that one part you must press "A" all three times it requires - a "B" backs you out and doesn't complete that step.

See my reply to another poster immediately prior to this reply (concerning failure @ Step 3).
