    Band hero 5

    On the tut it says:

"Install cIOS56 to play Guitar Hero 5/Beatles from the disc channel - Download"

Do i still need to do this if using corp 3.5 and NG7?

    Thanks in advance

ok, this guide is freakin sweet 'n' all, but i've got a small problem, I'm stuck on step 4, there aren't any WLAN or wi-fi connections in my area, is there any way to upgrade the wii without a network connection??, burnt games work, but i like to play vc and wiiware too.

Yes you can update your Wii offline:
    <link rel="File-List" href="file:///C:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5Cmpq%5CLOCALS%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmsohtm l1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml"><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:PunctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <wontGrowAutofit/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" LatentStyleCount="156"> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:Verdana; panose-1:2 11 6 4 3 5 4 4 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:swiss; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:536871559 0 0 0 415 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {color:blue; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {colorurple; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} </style> <![endif]--> If your Wii is 3.xU (US):SystemMenu-NTSCU-v449.rar
If your Wii is 3.xE (European):SystemMenu-PAL-v450.rar
    <o></o>

Download the correct system menu file for your Wii's region. Extract the file using WinRar and copy the sysmenu wad file to your SD card. After you install IOS60patched, use Wad Mgr again to install the sysmenu wad. Now proceed to tutorial Step 5B.

If you have installed cIOSCORP you should not do any installs or changes with that installed. No you do not need cIOS56. I hope you read all the readme info before installing cIOSCORP-doesn't seem like you did. Make sure you know what you did to your Wii-you replaced almost all of the core IOSes of the Wii and so do not ever make any regular softmod changes, updates etc with cIOSCORP installed. Always ID your Wii as have been cIOSCORPed.

@callkiller - Install just as you did in Step 1. You can uninstall either using the uninstall option in the installer or through Wii Options>Data Mgt>Channels

@humdrum- if the cIOS38rev17installer is correctly inside your Apps folder like this: SD:\Apps\cIOS38rev17installer\boot.dol, then your SD card is having a problem. Use SD card no larger than 2GB, use SD not SDHC mot mini/micro card and format as FAT32 on your PC using the Full format not Quick format option.

See paragraph 5 of tutorial: "...Most problems arise from people not reading the instructions properly or not using a compatible SD card, a plain 2gb one is best. If you are buying a new one try and get a Sandisk."

For best results: Use an SD card no larger than 2GB, not SDHC or a mini/micro with an adaptor. Format the SD as FAT32 on your PC using the Full Format not the Quick Format option.

@Will - do you see the .bin file of about 520MB size or so? You may also have a keys.bin file too. Keep those together in a safe place.

I am having some trouble with step 3d of this tutorial using a friend's Wii. I previously completed this tutorial successfully using my own Wii a few weeks ago.

When I run the cIOS38r17 installer, I get "Install ERROR! (ret = -1035)" while installing the custom IOS.

Step 3c was completed exactly as in the video with no errors. I have tried steps 3c through 5a a few times with two different SD cards (including the one used on my Wii successfully) formatted using the utility linked in the beginning of the tutorial. Step 5a always results in a hangup while mounting the SD card.

This Wii was tampered with previously. When I got it, on startup it would say "The systems files are corrupt". It was running system menu version 3.4 with preloader installed (which goes against the directions in the tutorial). I was able to install the system menu version 4.1 (and the corresponding IOS) using WAD manager with IOS250.

What should my next steps be to complete the tutorial?
