I'll check to see if its some other originals but if it is, should i just have them load their games weather its an original or a backup threw neogamma from now on. And thanks again for getting back to me. thanks to night as well p.s. forgot to mention i was having trouble trying to get prii to install on my wii which i did first so i install starpatch instead and i put the disc skip update there. i decided to put starpatch on all since it was easier for me and didnt wanna try to mess anything up.

This situation can occur when the original discs have more updated IOSes than those installed on the Wii. When Preloader/priiloader has the "skip game update check" enabled this can prevent the game from playing in the Disc Channel but not through a loader.

In other words say Game X wants to load using IOS 33 v1540, with preloader skipping the update check the game will load and play using your installed IOS33 v1040, but not through the Disc Channel. It doesn't happen with all softmodded Wiis; most play the original discs just fine, so I can only guess it's some preloader quirk. You can try a different version of preloader/priiloader and see if it makes a difference.
    Hi Nighstah,

I know you are looking into this problem. I got the same problem like Xray1977. When I click on the dics channel to load wii sports I got a black screen and have to hold down the power to shut it down. It works if it was loaded in Neogamma.

Here is what I did on the softmod. I followed everything on this tutorial except two things I did it different. I have installed DVDx in HackMii and Startpatch instead of Priiloader. My original system menu was 3.2U then updated to 4.1U. IOS60 Patched was installed before updating per the instruction. Please let me know what I did wrong.

    Thanks,

To clarify what Gen3SF said: you see the filename above? Think of it as 01-18-2010 (as in January 18, 2010).

See Gen3SF's advice you quoted in the reply then... she'd know or offer that viable explanation quicker than I.

Wiis that can install bootmii as boot2 are able to access bootmii from a low level step, just after bootup. When bootmii can only be installed as IOS (all Wiis made after about 18 months ago) then one needs Homebrew Channel access in order to run bootmii. Priiloader maintains that access and so becomes more important for newer Wiis. The recommendation not to restore as a primary option because bootmii is installed into the very IOS that may have been corrupted by whateverf disaster has befallen the Wii. With priiloader installed and working, HBC access allows other repair efforts to occur w.o having to resort to a possibly corrupted app/restore. It is never a bad idea to have the Wii NAND backup, just where on triage efforts does bootmii fall, changes with the installation constraints.
Big thanks for your help. Sorry for the 6 months thing. I did not see the small post. Last edited by Dogeggs; 01-19-2010 at 08:23 AM

Thanks so much for the guide! Everything works perfectly!
But I have one single question,
At the original Game Disc channel(very top left on menu) it says Wii system update.
I should not update it right?
