I'll take that as confirmation you were @ 4.2; if you made a NAND backup, your only option for a fix can be found here.

    Ok guys.

Had a banner brick on a wii with V4.0E firmware.
the wii was softmodded and was banner bricked by installing a bad wad.
No Truncha bug installed just wanniko's Cios 249.

the wii would boot up with the health warning screen and when i pushed A it made a noise and then i got a black screen.
priiloader, bootmii and starfall were not installed

I purchased a drivekey d2pro from ozmod chips (not set to autoboot) and a savemii from ozmodchips
the modchip was self installed and the dip switch was changed to boot australian discs as displayed on the sticker
Wadmanager, anytitle deleter and unioversal unbrick discs burned onto Dvd-R at 4x would not boot
I managed to get a friends wii harddrive with iso's of zelda and SSB both PAL
I copied zelda onto a pc using WBFS manager and set the disc to autoboot by going onto wiibrew.org, downloading bootmii and using a cmd prompt from windows, used the syntax bootmii.exe "c:\zelda.iso" a
Zelda was burnt onto verbatim DVD-R 4x using the imgbrn program
    Zelda now boots
I am currently trying this with SSB at the moment

How did you update your wii to 4.0? Did you do it via Nintendo or did you use an updater (wani's)?
When you softmodded, what guided did you follow? Did your use Trucha Bug Restorer and patch ios36 or other, or did you use ios16? Or something else.
SSBB will not help you, give it up.

Burn Nintendo's Offical Wii BackUp Disk v1.31.rar and see if it will boot.

It was updated previously by Nintendo before it went bad. I got SSB to boot and filled up the rest of my space with saved pics. So i'm thinking i'm going to head out and grab a copy of one of the my sims games and see if i can format my memory. As long as i can still play the games i'm happy.

I like challenges and this one has been a great challenge it has been fun and informative. The best part about breaking things is you learn how to fix them or you develop your thought process along those lines so even if this turns out futile i'll keep trying because i enjoy it

    OK, well read this- http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...oot-disks.html
it has all of your possible solutions for loading an app in your situation. If you happen to remember an info, let me know and I can give you better directions. As you are now, SSDm is probably your only hope, but perhaps you have a patched ios36- then there is an easier way.

As for formating from my sims- I don't know what you are talking about, so I you know something I don't speak up and let me know.

    Thanks for the help

I read previous posts in this site whereby if the memory is completely filled up and i launch a mysims games such as mysims agent with no saved space then there was a possibility that it would format the system storage memory with the possibility of erasing the bad wad (SSDm).

As i have no free space left now i will give this a try thanks!

I believe i do have a patched IOS36. i successfuly softmodded about six wiis with priloader installed and bootmii installed with truncha even supplied them documentation on using the programs and how to do everything it's ironic that the only one i managed to brick was my own lol.

If you do have a patched ios36, you way want to try #8 or possibly #7 from the guide I linked you. Best of luck. Also, ssbb does not give accurate info about the nand space, sorry- but that does not work. It makes a large save file and any nand usage listed is based on space used within that save file.
