    Korean to USA

Here is a helpful little bit of information for anyone who has bricked a Korean wii by using the anyregion changer to make it play NTSC games. My friend here in Seoul brought me his wii because he bought a korean one and wanted it to play NTSC games. I had come across the anyregion changer when I was softmodding my NTSC wii to play backups. I got it to change the region to USA with the region changer, but not all of the system menu was in english, some of it was still in korean and parts of the system menu didnt appear at all. The screen would just turn white, however the will would now play NTSC games. Well upon trying to play Rock Band he was asked to update to 4.1.. bad idea. This caused the wii to become bricked. He brought it back to me, and after a small search in the computer shops I found a legit nintendo gc controller and tried the Nintendo Repair Disc, which didnt do crap. After about an hour of trying different repair discs I came across Zantzue's Anti-brick Disc. Burning this iso at 2x using Imgburn allowed me to boot into HBC. Once into homebrew channel I attempted to downgrade from 4.1U to 3.4U thinking this would fix the system menu, it didnt. Even after intalling the system menu for 3.4U it was still bricked. I found a semi-solution by installing.... wait for it... the PRELOADER!!!! Using the preloader I was able to stop the black screen from appearing. But wait, thats not all. You see, in order to play legal games, because he doesnt have a usb hard drive yet for me to copy all my backups for him, you have to use Gecko OS. I tried just running the disc from USBLoaderGX but it wouldnt load. Maybe I didnt have the settings correct, but I had already had a few beers and decided not to piss it off any more than it already was . So I installed Gecko OS on his sd card and viola~ with the default settings i was able to play any legit disc I put in the drive. And with USBLoader GX if i plug in my 120G drive, I was able to play any backup!

So there you have it. For those of you, and I know your out there, who have a bricked korean-to-ntsc wii. This is your fix:

    1. Download Zantzue's Anti-brick Disc
    2. Google the Wii Gamecube controller fix
    3. Use the fix + disc to boot into HBC
(4.a) Downgrade if you want to or think it will help
4.b Use HBC to install Preloader
    5. Install Gecko OS with HBC

Thats pretty much it. I would say install USBLoaderGX but installing it wont do anything because it puts a channel on the system menu. So instead just copy the dol to your sd card and run it in HBC to play backups. Use GeckOS to play legit discs.

    I hope this helps someone

You must have install ios60-v6174 with patches, or had cIOSCORP installed- that disk will not work for anyone after a system update unless they had done that. You may as well actually fix the wii while your at it. Load </span>ARCmod06.zip from the HBC- use ios249. Set all the settings to USA and the wii should work.

Does the Modchip need to be switched to the autoboot setting before any of these techniques will work?

Ca Wii Recovery Mode will just not Start for Me, Please help!

I've done about everything I can, the premises seems simple enough. I have lots of experience with Wii's and modding Wii's, but for some dam reason I can't get either one of the two bricked Wii's I have here up into rescue recovery mode!

Can someone help me ? I've gone as far as buying to controllers in hopes that an original may work better for the simultaneous pressing of the four directional pad buttons but a lase it was the exact same set up.

Once of these Wii's was bricked while some fool was trying to down grade from version 4.1 to 3.2 (for whatever reason) and the other is a banner brick as well that was caused when a 15 year old kid messed up his install process.

From what I understand, I should be at least getting the signs of recovery mode on one of the two bricks! No matter how hard I try, pressing those 4 buttons at once is doing nothing.

Does any one no if this could be a problem with newer Wii's ?

    Please help, cheers !

    fully bricked wii.

I have got a problem with my wii.

The problem is that i went to Wad manager 1.5 and uninstalled the wads that i had installed then i restarted the wii and when i turn the wii on nothing comes up on the screen when i try to turn the remote control on the 3 lights just keeps flashing and then stops so is there any way i could fix this? because i can't see anything on the screen because nothing appears it's just a black screen nothing else no letters come up or anything.

I would really appreciate your help and if you could suppl me with links for the stuff i need to fix my wii.

    Thanks.

Also i have the list of wads i uninstalled, here it is:

    cIOS202[38+60]-v4.wad
    cIOS222[38]-v4.wad
    cIOS223[38+37]-v4.wad
    cIOS249-v14.wad

    cIOS250-v14.wad
    IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad

also i have uninstalled neogamma r8 wad.

then i just went back to the wad manager menu and pressed Home button on my wii remote control and it said restarting Wii... it got stuck so i waited for about 5 minutes, then i just shutted it down manually by pressing and holding the power button on the Wii. So after about 1 minute i turned it on manually and nothing came up not even a screen when your wii starts up and you have to press A button to go to the main menu.
when i installed homebrew channel i also installed BOOTMII as an iso.

When this problem happend i removed my SD card from the wii and deleted all the files that was on it.

I would like to know if there is any chance to fix my wii to i can use it again as normal?

If yes then please give me a guide how to fix it. as you can see i'm a newby at this so a guid would be great i would really appreciate it.

If your Wii is/was @ 4.2, congratulations ---- you have now bricked your Wii. SM4.2 runs off of IOS 70. I'm guessing you ignored or were unaware of the golden rule "Don't uninstall ANY IOS below 200." Unless you were fortunate enough to have BootMii boot2, your Wii is a lost cause.

Also, this is off-topic to this thread which subject matter concerns "banner bricked Wiis." Yours is not a banner bricked Wii, it's a fully bricked Wii.

If you are on 3.1-4.1 system menu you can use the guide by dogeggs: [[Guide]]
If you are on the 4.2 system menu the you can use the guide by Shadowsonic2: [[Guide]]
