Does anyone know if the console in the first post was PAL or NTSC?
Everthing works fine, SSBB fills up memory very quickly, but Rabbids Go Home does not take you to data management. I have only managed for it to take me to the system menu, but that doesn't work as the console gives a black screen the moment it gets back to the system menu.
I see SSBB NTSC works on PAL, has anyone tried Smash Stack to unbrick, wouldn't that be much easier and quicker than filling up memory?

Have you tried holding all 4 directional buttons down on a game cube controller in controller port 1 while tuning the unit on? Remember you have to modify the GC controller to do that. You'll get the current system menu version in the right bottom corner. If that didn't work check that the WiFi pcb that's piggy backed on the mainboard is plugged in propperly.

Hey peeps. I have a scenario similar to many here. I have an original Wii console LU10 I softmodded ages ago. I never had any problems with it until a few months back when I tried installing a neogammar5 wad back around the time Wii Sports Resort JP was released (screen flashed green for a sec, rebooted automatically and BAM, I had myself my very own bannerbrick). Since then, my Wii's been bricked and I have been unable to get passed the Health Warning screen. I've let the Wii just sit for months now. The other day I decided to see if there was maybe some new info unbricking the Wii since advances are usually made over time. I found this link:
I figured, why not give it a try. Now, I KNOW this brick is different as he gets the jumbled words across the screen when he boots where as I get the Health Warning screen and black screen after pressing the A button.
Anyhow, I used savmiifrii method and my Wii displayed '4.0U' at the bottom right of the screen. I popped in NSMBW and it spun for a good 2mins, then I saw the gray channels flash on the screen for a moment (like when the Wii is loading the channel screen) then everything went back to black. I restarted the Wii with savemiifrii a 2nd time and NOW my system menu reads '4.1U'...so the disc did it's job (it seems), but I'm still unable to get passed the Health Warning screen. Not sure what to do next, short of saving up for a modchip and even then I'm not sure it will work.
Since this was my frst softmod and everything went smooth, the thought of installing bootmii, priiloader, or any other saftey precaution crossed my mind...lesson learned. Prior to using NSMBW to update the firmware, I had cios249 installed, as well as HBC, and Wad Manager. BTW - I tired using the autoboot discs, but nothing happens which leads me to believe I didn't have the patched ios60 installed before. What are my options at this point? Thank you in advance.

phatsamury, There is an easier way. Get yourself a copy of "ENDLESS OCEAN 2" It has fw v4.2 on it. v4.2 will delte any and all "unauthorised" wads, cios and mios files and restore the Wii to factory v4.2. You will do exactly the same as what you did with NSMB. Put Endless Ocean 2 in Wii, switch off. Hold down all 4 directional buttons on GC controller, turn Wii back on. It will show system software version in bottom right corner. Waith a couple of minutes and when it restarts your Wii will be unbricked.
Edit: It has to be PAL as JAP doesn't have 4.2 on and NTSC has not been released yet. Ahh just noticed you hav a NTSC unit. You'll have to find an NTSC game with 4.2 on it.

First of all I have a 4.2u softmodded wii I used the "Softmod for ANY 4.2 Wii!" . Ok so I have recenetly modded my wii and have been very succesful I've been able to get everything running and working properly and fairly easily too. Until the other day I woke up and turned my wii on and it gave the "system files are corrupted" message BUT I could still boot into priloader, so I wasn't too worried. I started researching online and someone said that I needed to install my system menu so I donwloaded a patched version of ios70 and installed it via wad manager. I rebooted and got some sorta error relating to es_identify verification or something. So I kept looking for a solution and someone said to update my preloader and my hacks.ini so I got the latest version of preloader and got the latest hacks.ini for my system menu and installed them. My es_identity problem was fixed but now I was back where I started. I then read somewhere that I should use nusdownloader to install my system menu and my ios. So i got the system menu v481 and ios70-64-6687 wads and installed them. Soon after I restarted and My preloader would no longer boot and I still had the system files corrupted message. Finally I got my wii to recovery mode where it displays 4.2usa, I've burnt homebrew installer disc and lcud v3 and I patched a wii game with the bootme app to see if I could get it to autoboot and nothing. Those three disk will spin for about a minute and then stop and the 4.2usa is still displayed. BUT if i put an original wii disk in like ssmb, twilight, or tnsmb they will spin up the 4.2usa will dissapear and the disk will continue to spin. But nothing else happens It just sits at the black screen..i've left it that way for hours and nothing has happened. Once when I rebooted it almost most go to the system menu, like it showed the outline of the channels for a split second, and then took me back to system files message. Is there anyway I could repair this without have to get a wiikey? Am I doing something wrong when I burn those disk? (I used the same process I do when I burn GC backups (that work)). SOMEONE PLEEEASEEE HELP thx

The unbrick disks most propably do not work because you do not have Trucha Bug restored on your 4.2 system. Currently the only way you will be able to fix it is with an original game disc that contains system software v4.2. The reason why this is the only disc that will work is because it checks for any and all unauthorised software on the Wii and delete it.
The only problem is it might not work as you allready have 4.2 on your Wii, but it's worth a try. Other than that, currently if you do not have Cios249, Trucha Bug, PreLoader or BootMii there is no other way to unbrick a 4.2 system (As you did not update online or from disc, at least one of them should still be there). The waiting for game disc with 4.3 or so will be the only thing that'll save you.
I would also recomed you try booting wadmanager from disc, I have found this disc to work on many bricked Wii consoles that the other "Unbrick Discs" wouldn't.

I used the trucha bug restorer allot during the modding process, I'm not sure if have the trucha bug or whatever, I have bootmii installed as an ios, I have preloader installed and it just isn't loading and I also installed cioscorp a while ago. I mean since my wii trys to load my original game discs does that mean my autoboot is working? And do I need to wait til 4.3? or is there a way of hacking an iso to make the wii think it is a higher version? I'm burning wad manager iso right now, HOPEFULLY it will boot. I broke down and ordered a wasabi dx last night, but if my wii is already autobooting I feel like I may have wasted my money...I have modded a few others wiis and I really need to fix this, so that I will have the tools to fix theirs if the problem arises. Thanks for your help already.
I just burnt two different copies of wad manager to disk, i got the iso from here Autobooting Wad Manager ISO - GBAtemp.net . And my wii will not read it either, It seems that it wont read the burnt discs. But i could play burnt GC games when it was modded, but not through the disc channel. Hmmm, this is confusing.

You will need to use a Mod-Chip to boot recorded discs once bricked. The only thing you need to hope for is that you still have the CIOS249 so that you'll be able to run the WADManger from disc. The only way you would've lost it would be if you updated to 4.2 from the net or from a disc. Then it would've deletd all hacked IOS, but as you only updated the system menu via WADManager I doubt it. Make sure you have IOS70 and IOS60 installed when using system menu 4.2.
The fact that Preloader is missing and does not boot anymore is cause for consern since you either have to unintsall it or it will was automatically removed with 4.2 software update. I assume you have tried booting the Wii with reset held down while turning it on to access Preloader?
I also notice that you have CiosCorp installed. Do not remove any cIOS files, if you need to then overwrite them with the original IOS file as CiosCopr patches many IOS files. Also if you can get CiosCorp installer to run again it would be a safer bet reinstall or uninstall it from scratch.
