Followed the directions, seemed to work ok. By that I mean it installed HB, boot2 and dvdx. Where and how do I now go to try to run a backup copy of a game that I own and burned? I don't see how to get to a menu offering the dvd player? If there is a guide that I missed, just direct me there and not spend a lot of time on an answer.

Thanks, got lots of reading to do. But I have another question. Having tried to load Homebrew before, it seems I succeeded. I have the channel as well as a dump channel. Do I need to bring my Wii to a virgin 4.1U status before I give your directions a go? And... do some of the channels remain on the Wii if I reformatt the sd card?

you don't need to virginise your wii beforew doing that guide, just skip the part on installing hbc....and your channels won't be touched if you format your card as they are installed on the wiis internal nand chip.

What does installing the homebrew channel actually do to my Wii? Does this mean I can no longer accept Nintendo firmware updates?
Can I play burned games or ISOs off of the SD card? Sorry for the noob questions but I've been reading for a while and it is a lot to take in.

What does installing the homebrew channel (hbc) actually do to my Wii?
--hbc is the platform 4u 2expand the applications with ur Wii
--hbc won't eat up ur Wii's memory, just a channel. don't panic ....lol
--many homebrew softwares are available today
Does this mean I can no longer accept Nintendo firmware updates?
--not stopping u fm accepting any gifts (good or evil), updates fm Ninty
--the updating of hbc and of Wii firmware are of different acts
Can I play burned games or ISOs off of the SD card?
--can be, if u learn well to burn ISO, to manage update, to make good use of hbc, to install ios/cios,
--rather than a 32GB SDcard (max 4Wii), turn ur head to a usb_hdd (e.g. 80~500GB) and think of USB_Loader.
