Ok, i fixed the error. Now I have another problem. When I downgraded the IOS in the guide, did I kind-of do step "Load IOS Downgrader in Homebrew Channel. Just follow any prompts until it tells you it is complete." in the twilight/downgrade/starfall tutorial. That is the only reason I believe it doesn't work (It forces me to restart).

Project, how did you resolve your RET ERROR issue? Any idea what was causing it?

I searched the forums and found this guy who installed the cios fix wad without the custom wad manager, and jsut a regular. I tried the same, and it installed. Then I tried to use the IOS downgrader, which forces me to restart. I tried to install the cios fix wad once again with the custom wad manager, and it worked, but I'm still stuck on the IOS downgrader. Yeah, to answer your question, I have no idea what caused the error, prolly something that changed from 3.4 to 4.0

If his solution doesn't work, try mine. Look at the red text at the bottom of the first post.

This is really starting to get increasingly frustrating. Zerosyko you refer to your instructions of getting a CIOS Downgrader. The one I found was on nes-hacks.com and there are no instructions on getting it to run. All it says in the readme file was to "run the program". Awesome...How exactly am I supposed to accomplish that. I extracted the rar file on my SD Card and went thru the usual steps or..Wii Options, Data Management, Channels blah blah...and nothing. Is there something else I am supposed to be doing? I've tried the directions by the OP step for step twice now and still RET ERRORS on step 4.

Also wanted those who might offer help and those whom have to be clear on my set up....

Never done anything to my Wii except system updates...
I do not have the HBC or any other mods, hacks...
I've had my Wii since launch...
My Japanese games I own are original copies not burns...I owned a JP Wii but it was stolen at tournament I attended....

    Thanks

Rename the boot.dol that comes in the pack to something else, and put the cios downgrader boot.dol in its place. After you use it, delete it, and rename the original file to boot.dol again.

Never done anything to my Wii except system updates...

I dunno if it will help, then....

    ^ Zero...

Are you saying I'm basically screwed because I have never used the HBC or any other soft mods on my Wii?

    Wait...Step 4?!

    4. Put the SD card in wii, go to Wii Options, than go to Data Management > channels > SD Card then you will get a message saying "Load /boot.dol?" select 'Yes' and Wad Manager 1.4 will run, use this to install IOS35-64-v1040.wad, If it doesn't work, don't worry it is already installed.

Have you tried moving on without it?
