    500Gb LG HDUX

Hi folks! I'm new to this forum. I have successfully managed to mod my wii and install the USB loader. It worked fine with an old 40gig usb drive I had lying around the house. I recently purchased a 500gig LG 2.5" drive and have tried various partition sizes. USB Loader times out most times.... sometimes after 3-5 seconds, it will stop with a list of installed iso's on it, but it will not let me use game controller to move around and select game etc. maybe 1 outta 25 times it syncs and works fine, letting me select which game to load and bingo.... when I restart, it's back to normal..... does anyone else have similar problem, or solution to fixing it..... i've tried diffrnt cIOS's and no joy..... seem to have most luck on 36_rev10...... but it's still very unpredictable...... can sometimes take 30mins trying to get game working!

    thanx......

This bit of information may save you much time. Plug your USB device/ External drive into your PC And format it to WBFS with WBFS Manager. And then plug it into your wii. Turn it on and then turn on your wii after the hard drive is booted. I kept trying and trying until i made the partition WBFS with my pc first then plugger her in and bam Im loading so many games on it now. Note that some games will not load through USB loader and only run off the burnt disc. I dunno why some just do. Unless I did something wrong

im new and trying to get started playing wii games from usb hard drive
    this guide says...
Copy both folders onto your SD card and insert it into the Wii.

how do i copy data onto the SD card to get started and install a cios?

i do not have a sd card yet but i looked at where it hooks up to the wii on the front and the connection does not look like usb

so when i buy a sd card how do i hook it up to a computer?

You need a memory card reader on your computer. If you don't have one, you can buy one for $3 shipped here -> USB 2.0 Multi In One Card Reader for SD,MMC,RS-MMC,MiniSD,T-Flash,MS/MS PRO,MS Duo/MS

    Smile Fixed Problem!

For information to others who may be experiencing similar problem to myself.... I recently updated to SysMenu 4.1 and also updated to waninkoko's new cIOS38_rev14...... everything works a treat now.... ;-)

I have 320Gb partition WBFS and secondary 180Gb NTFS for Transfer purposes etc..... I was previously using my powered 500Gb Freecom Media Player as a System with 1st Partition WBFS and other NTFS.... but it's way too bulky and I prefer it for bedroom, where I can watch movies and listen music etc...

Many thanks to info obtained from WiiHacks.com

    10 / 10 for resources...

    cIOS36_rev9-Installer.zip
    IOS36-64-v1042.wad*

Is there a reason why my Wii crashes if I am closing the Wii menu within USB Loader GX? A black screen with codes would pop up and I would have to unplug the power source in order to restart or turn off the console.

I downloaded the WAD from this thread and the loader from another stickied thread.
