Have you tried any other backups other than SSBB?

Hi, just have a question, I see your burning speed does not support 2x, but you said choose 2 time write speed, is that possible?

if you just click on one of the .rar files and unzip it, it will unzip the entire file. i had a hard time understanding that at first, so i know its weird...just do it. any one of the 52142123 .rar files will do.

aside from this, in imgburn, i set my burner to 2x write speed, but the write rate is still 4x. why would it do this?

look in the disc info window and check on what the lowest supported speed for your type & brand of dvd... maybe imgburn is now sensing that?

    let us know...thanks

yeah, i didnt think to check that, but it turns out for both types of dvd-r's i have (4.7gb generic and 8.5gb memorex), the lowest write speed is 4x. does that mean i should get a different type of media?

the problem i'm currently having with burning is this: whenever i put one of my burned iso backups into my wii and click on the game channel, it asks to update the wii. I'm using a genuine wiikey, and i know it works because my brother has already burned games on sony dvd-r's, but he's in mexico so i can't ask him for help

i'm guessing that this means its a burning issue, but if it could be something else, please let me know.

Nothing wrong with 4X burn speed... it's your brand of disc with your burner.....verbatim dvd-r or more recommended are the Taiyo Yudens dvd-r's.... especially if you are having issues.

try setting your write type from the default DAO to incremental....IN IMGburn

i'm sorry, i can't find that write type setting in imgburn. where do i look?

i'm going to get some new dvd-r's, but does it matter that my burner is a lightscribe? does that make it more likely that a lightscribe dvd-r will work, or should i just get verbatims or taiyos?

edit: is there a list out there of compatible dvd-r types with burner types? if not, someone should start compiling that info. just a thought.

many dvd brands will work initially and fail later
cheap dye on most brands cause your laser to overwork itself to play a game..
the recommend types are mentioned above...ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES.

if 1 brand of cheap dvds burned on 1 burner work on...it may not work if burned from another... so doing a list is not going to work as proven before elsewhere.....There are too many variables...laser setting, burner, dvd brand, speed of burn, dvd type, burner settings..etc

imgburn>>>tools>>>settings>>>write tab on top>>>>write type part way down>>>change DAO to incremental

for Super Smash Bros Brawl, you must use dual layer DVD. The dual layer DVD size is 8.5 GB. In order to burn the ISO into DL DVD, use imgburn. Before that, go to Tools>Settings>Write>Layer Break>User Specified and type 2084960
Imgburn doesn't burn DL DVD without you manually specifying. Hope this helps..
